Good "morning" all. Got to sleep in till 0845 LOL. Got up real fast to have breakfast, good thing I did- had a steak (required A1 though), egg burrito, hash brown, home fried tatos w/ sausage, onion, black beans, and green bell pepper. Now while this may sound great, it's all stuff that comes pre cooked and then we defrost it. It's not IHOP quality, but then again I didn't get to be the large sexy stud I am by being picky LOL
I guess they do the best they can with chow to make up for living like I'm camping for 7 months.
Forgot to mention- thanks for the train pics! I grew up in the Bronx and spent many a day fishing on the Hudson River, which required hopping the 4 track main of the fallen flag New York Central RR. Having to jump 4 600v 3rd rails made it interesting LOL. I used to love watching Conrail doublestacks pull into NYC from upstate NY. Even had the old Amtrack turbo train fly by a few times. I used to as a teenager walk the single track main for the Putnam Division of the NYCRR, abandoned in 1983. I guess it's the history lover in me, I wish I was around to see the old Iron Horses billowing fiery breath. Alas, those days are gone sadly. I try to recapture them in my models though- I have about 20 powered HO scale engines from the mid 40's era, a 3rd of them being brass steam engines (4-8-4 Niagaras, 4-8-2 Mohawk, 2-8-4 Berkshire, 4-6-4 Hudson), the other part mostly GE F units, a few Alcos, and even 2 electric box units, plus about 60 freight cars and 22 passenger cars. I used to belong to a kick-*** train club on Long Island, but had to move back to SoCal, now I just have a nice display case....
Doing well Nolan- once again we are NOT flying out today, which suites me fine. We're supposed to go to yet another week of death by powerpoint, which I could give a rat's *** to attend. If it was up to me, I would rather just get to work. Funny thing is the first class is supposed to be going today, and last about five days. I hope we get slammed by a 2 day shamal (shamal is NORTH, and the sandstorms all come out of the north) so we can't fly out and the Col will say the hell with it, just do your changeover and get to work. All I can say is the famous Iraqi saying- inshallah- God willing LOL
I am glad I have a swapmeet to go to next weekend, cause the pics of the old junk makes me want to go junk yarden.
My father-n-law would go nuts with the farmalls in thoses pics,Scott.I think he has four right now.One is a f-12 steel wheel, its a little one, smaller than the ones Sheldon has pics of.
Lisa, my uncle is an auction sale nut, he collects all kinds of old stuff. When he passes on my sister and I, and our two cousins have the chore of sorting and selling(or keeping) all his stuff. That will probably take a month or so, JUST to sort everything all out and see what will go to auction. Not looking forward to that, cause i do like my uncle, hes a cool guy, and those pics that I showed are just a tip of the huge iceburg of stuff he has out there!
Tons more vehicles and machinery, grainery bins just packed full of miscellaneous stuff, all sorts of neat antiques.
Scott those are awesome pics, I love checking out pics of stuff like that! I like that little crawler tractor, thats one thing I want to get yet, but the ol lady just doesnt want me to have stuff like that hanging around haha.
I actually love those little tractors. I would love to get one from my uncle and have it for an acreage tractor. For some reason hes a little attached to his tractors, even though they just sit out there and rot haha.
