I shutter at the cost and scope of the project but plan on having a builder do the shell, utilities and I will finish the rest myself.
Thats what I plan on doin to the rental down in Alabama. Goin to add an addition on the back of the house. Paying builder to frame it and get it weathertight, Ill be doing the rest. Need to upgrade from a 100amp (maybe) to a 200amp definitely. The other stuff wont be too bad!
I'm only 16. However I've been around the family business that I described earlier since I could walk. I drove my first PowerStroke solo when I was 8. And yes it was a 7.3L just an old style.
I think Nicks still go ya beat lol.

Luckily building material prices have stabilized somewhat the last few months. The problem is I am in no position to capitalize on it.
I am lining up some work for a buddy after the holidays to finish his basement. Should be a good project.
Prices start at about $210 a sq. foot here Older houses (30 yrs and older) are around $190 sq. foot.....told ya it was insane lol
That is nutz.

Yes it is. I upgraded my house 10 years back and love it. Now the hot tub, garage, air compressor, RV, truck plugin are all on separate circuits instead of doubling up on stuff.
there are some pretty fancy log home kits out there, chris...
Lisa...find a small home on a large acreage and build elsewhere on the property, then tear down the old home...or donate it to the fire dept for training...wonder if thats a tax write-off

OR, I could sell raffle tickets to the local single ladies and make a KILLING when they come to burn the place down.
I would most likely keep it around as a guest house though.
