No you don't. This family is the most dysfunctional I have ever met, and they are all miserable. Depressed, miserable, the works. Its sort of awful to watch. And it was the money that did it to them.
Imagine never having any respect because everyone around you knows you haven't worked for a damn thing your entire life. You have no self worth, no purpose, no reason to even get up out of bed in the morning. You can't truly date and fall in love and get married, because you'll always question the motives of the person you are with.
Imagine your life is so consumed with money, and how to make more of it, that your whole family is disgusted with your ego and they do everything they can not to have to spend any time with you.
Imagine you are so detached from the people you spend most of your time with (your employees), because of this money, and loathe you for it.
Money isn't always a blessing.
Thats what I have always heard, money isnt always a blessing. I shouldnt worry about it too much anyways, between my lady and i, we rake in well over what most people make (shes a teacher in her 7th year, and I work "when not injured!" in the oil field)
I grew up fairly poor and I think that was actually a blessing in disguise, it taught me alot about money, and a TON of other things. I can fix damn near anything, with just about nothing lol.
you need to broaden your horizons, Lisa...the yes or no thread can be fun, too!
Well I hope you guys don't get too disappointed, I don't think I'll spend much time over there. I have a hard enough time following this thread sometimes...
While I was replying here there were 10 more replys over there and people getting upset I hadn't responded yet.
I enjoy this Ot because I get to know people I have been talking with on the tech side for years.
I see that. I hope I don't offend anyone that I don't socialize with other forums on FTE...I am very partial to my friends here. We all speak the same language here and we understand one another.
...but I see you posted over there anyway. LMAO!!!
I started to check it out, but it's hard enough keeping up here!! And I agree -- we all seem like great friends, and most of us have never met. Goes back to that statement you made a few days ago. Something about us diesel-heads................
Right on Jacob, thats good to hear, when ya keep women happy (dont matter if shes your mom, grandma, g/f wife, or whatever) life seems to go alot easier!
Sometimes ya gotta mix it up and push some buttons though

Man thats crazy, I would love even a ride in any one of those vettes, and you have owned them!
You musta had a pretty good job back in the day too eh, they were one of the more expensive cars, were they not?
At the time I think they were the most expensive American made car. You might have been able to load up a Lincoln or a Cadillac with expensive options, I don't know. I've only had 1 job in my life where I had to wear a suit and tie to work, all the rest of my life it has been piece work carpentry where the harder you worked, the more money you made. In the late '60's and early '70's I was doing 300 to 400 a day working as a framer in Los Angeles and surrounding area. Then I went to Alaska during the pipeline years. I once made 45k in just 3 weeks. Those folks nearly had tears in their eyes when they wrote that check. I remember the little bank in North Pole, Alaska did not have enough money to cash it. Yes I wanted cash. I am still paying for mistakes like that today. I had to go to Fairbanks to cash it.

Ah well
Sheldon, resourcefulness is something money cannot buy!!! And I think it is one of the most VALUABLE qualities in a person.
You have a woman who loves you and a home, what more can you ask for?

That is insane. The most I have made so far was around the 17k ish for a month of work, then taxes took a nice chunk of that!
I can see why they almost had tears, but hey I bet you earned that cash , you must have worked HARD for that.
