Dang you mean those are worth money? Figures!

Speaking of which, so the past few days I've been going through my stuff, and getting rid of things that I don't use often or that I don't really want anymore. I've taken a lot of stuff over to my sister's house, various pieces of furniture, decor items, stuff like that.

So I have this purse that my old boss gave me. Kinda ugly. Its made out of a tweed material, and is brown, orange, cream and blue striped, with a big giant brown leather flower on the side...not really my style. So I gave it to my older sister Kim, she was thrilled. I made some comment about how the purse is probably designer and worth money, so she looked it up on ebay.

Those purses, made by some popular designer, are going for $300 USED on ebay. This purse was NEW. Damn if you don't know what you have sitting right under your nose. lol. Well my sister is happy, she has a designer purse and keeps talking about the compliments she has gotten on it.

A mouse and a purse in the same post. Reminds me of a woman I know that is the worlds sloppiest housekeeper, started smelling something strange. Not just at home, but at work too. So one day it got so bad and the dog was pawing at it she dumped her purse on the bed. Guess what was dead in the bottom of the purse.

I see that. I hope I don't offend anyone that I don't socialize with other forums on FTE...I am very partial to my friends here. We all speak the same language here and we understand one another.

Agreed! This was a gift from a woman who has no concept of money and how much things cost. She is a millionaire's daughter.

Most I've spent on a purse was probably $10.

Sheldon, I've owned 4 over the years. The first being a '57 with a 283, maybe it was a 265, either way HP unremembered. The next a '60 with another 283 for sure and no HP number I can remember. The next a 65 Fastback with a 327, 300 Horse. The last and the only one we bought brand new was the '68 with a 435 Horsepower 427. All were sticks and if memory serves me correctly they were all hydraulic cam motors. In '68 there was a 425 Horse 427 available that would blow the doors off of the 435 Horse. It was a solid lifter cam engine. The only one that was not a convertible was the '65. The '68 had a removable hard top and a soft top too. If I had any of them today in the condition I would have kept them they would be quite valuable.

No you don't. This family is the most dysfunctional I have ever met, and they are all miserable. Depressed, miserable, the works. Its sort of awful to watch. And it was the money that did it to them.

Imagine never having any respect because everyone around you knows you haven't worked for a damn thing your entire life. You have no self worth, no purpose, no reason to even get up out of bed in the morning. You can't truly date and fall in love and get married, because you'll always question the motives of the person you are with.

Imagine your life is so consumed with money, and how to make more of it, that your whole family is disgusted with your ego and they do everything they can not to have to spend any time with you.

Imagine you are so detached from the people you spend most of your time with (your employees), because of this money, and loathe you for it.

Money isn't always a blessing.
