I had that exact same car, 65 hard top, with the 200 inline and the 3 spd. My mom gave it to me when I was 16 but through some bitter family issues and divorces it got taken back and sold out from under me. Not a day goes by I dont miss it. Have fun working on that with your Dad, that's time you'll remember forever. I know from experience, only it was my grandfather and I.
Best of luck on the rebuild, there are so many places to get parts now. When I was working on mine there wasnt much of an internet, so it was all junkyards and phone calls and someone knows someone who might have something in his garage...
Thanks, Brent. This should be a fun project. My Dad is an expert auto restoration guy. Since retiring from the fire department that si what he spends his days doing.
You're right about the parts now days. This is my fourth Mustang. Back in the day parts were hard to find. You had to know where to go to find stuff. I had a bad *** '65, a '66 that was so-so, and a really fast '67. I also had a '67 Cougar GT with the 390 in it. I miss all of them, especially the '65 and the Cougar. The '65 was dark, blood red, lowered a little with Cragers (remember those?) with really fat tires on the back and smaller ones on the front. My Dad built the motor and man, was it fun to drive. We used to take it to "the run", that's what we called the cruise back then, and spend all night Friday and Saturday out there. Drag racing, showing off and meeting girls. Those were the days. I should have never sold that car.
Hey Sheldon and Brent. I noticed you throwing Travis under the bus, not very nice.... So who's your new sacrifice? Hopefully not Lisa, she will beat your *** with the padded pole that Scott is going to make her.

Since I'm the one being a butt today I'll offer myself up for the sarcifice. We wont need a stinking' building inspector with Mark around, he's qualified. Sorry Travis, didnt sleep much last night, baby is teething...
We need you at the compound Brent. You can make me the sacrifice for today, I can take it and I am just a drink slinger. Sorry to hear about Claire teething, those nights suck.
Thanks Cris, and yes, they do. I'm sure you know all to well. All she wants to do today is curl up in daddys carhart sweatshirt and cry...Makes me feel like chit that I cant help make it better. A little tylenol and some teething rings, thats about it.
Ry cut her teeth like a champ, I didn't know she cut one until she bit me. Mad was another story, I used orajel, stacked motrin and tylenol, she chewed on frozen waffles and my fingers.
Stop it, I am trying to watch football. Thank you.
I am sitting here watching the Cards and Lams game all by myself, the kids are playing and Troy is sleeping. GO CARDS!!!!! I can not stand the Lams......
I'm watching the Bills Jets, the Cards handed the Bills their first defeat this year. Well, the Bills beat themselves. That and the fact that Arizona knocked the Bills quarterback out on the 3rd play of the game.
