Calibration Code to to EEC Program Code
Hello,
I have not been able to make your links work. I am trying to get the correct ECM for my 1989 F350 rear wheel drive dually with 5sp manual transmission. Motocraft does not recognize the VIN. (2FTJW35G4KCB23368). Here is the calibration code from the door.8-97A-R10. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

ECM interchange?
Subford, can you help? I need a replacement ECM for my 1996 F350 4x4 MT. The original ECM is a F6TF-12A650-BFA and apparently they are rare I assume. I cannot find anything less than $1200. My question is can I use another ECM with a different calibration code? If so would you know what would be compatible?

If so, you need a PCM for a v8 with MAP sensor and a manual transmission, the pcm has to be a 8 cylinder or it wont run the fuel injectors right (i6), it has to be manual transmission / c6 computer so it doesnt try and operate a transmission
That would probably work but youd want to have a 7.5 for fuel maps id think to be best accurate. otherwise aftermarket J3 port tuning can be done (moates for example)
IF this is eec-v, then any 8 cylinder pcm should be able to be flashed by a dealer to the proper calibration even if its different part number .
Yes, it is an eec-IV with map sensor. The only two ecm’s I can find on rockauto are calibration #’s 6-98P and 6-98T. My cal # is 6-97A. I’m just trying to figure out what would work with my powertrain other than my current inoperable
6-97A.
6-97A.
That's the same 'Authorized Modification' sticker I had on my long-gone '87 Crown Vic Police 351. Originally a Variable Venturi '2-barrel', there was a 'quiet' Ford-authorized TSB for police to get retrofitted with the mid-80s truck 351HO 4-barrel intake and carburetor. BUT, from what I have learned is that those modified cars were never to be sold to the public afterwards. Oops. Mine slipped trough...
I bought it at the municipal auction in 1991 with 111k miles. I sold it to a buddy in 1994. He later yanked the motor and rebuilt it for his '88 T-bird race car.
