Out of curiosity, how do you verify the correct PCM for your truck? What are the differences. I think the one I first pulled from my truck was F2TF-MA

The "batch code" & it's original engineering number are dependent on the "calibration code" as listed on your door pillar.

Sometimes subford will have the number if you post your calibration #.

On a very few trucks I've seen a sticker (about 1 inch square) with the batch code on it in the vicinity of the drivers side footwell.

Also your "engineering number" would be something like F2TF-12A650-MA, the 12A650 being the basic description for "computer" & the MA something like a revision code.

The "MA" EECM is correct for a 1992 5.8L, Calibration Code; 1-64H-R10

Yeah, it's not uncommon to have parts from the previous model year early in the next model year, if there was no change in the configuration/calibration into the new model year.
