its an interesting task and i hate plumbing, but so far so good. last night i got everything ripped apart and the new tub set in place. some shimming this morning and finish the framework around the tub, then set the taps, plywood the walls to accept the tile, then tile it hopefully this afternoon. tomorrow its toilet time and grout the tiles. sunday its clean-up and make everything pretty for when momma comes home...
in a perfect world it would all go smoothly like that, i've got my fingers crossed!!

Well good luck Sherm, im sure ya will make out fine! I do alot of taht kind of work myself, and if I can do it, you should be able to do it no problem!
We do use pex now though, had enough of copper pipe. Tiling, well I used to do that for awhile when I was younger, so flooring and tiling I always try to do myself. Toilet install is straight forward. The wood stuff I take my time with and can do ok, so a carpenter like yourself, you should be able to make short work out of a bathroom!
Post some pics when your done, I would be interested in seeing it!

thanks for the good luck wishes guys, i'm doing my best to have the project go smoothly. so far i got the drains done this morning, pressure balanced tap/shower set is in the works now. i'm no plumber so it's taking me probably 40,000 times as long as it should
