Ya know, i was gonna give you a shout about it too, but every carrier I talked to through work here, needed the bike crated up, or strapped to a pallet, and I just wasnt able to get that done from up here, and i figured you would tell me the same. If I could have had it crated I was able to get the bike here for 150 bucks through a buddy, and absolutely free through work!
I woulda came and drove to the Peg though for that price, my 7.3 truck is excellent on fuel on the highway and coulda made that trip for pretty cheap.
We used to haul bikes quite a bit, if they weren't on a skid or going into a reefer we'd just grab an old pallet turn it upside down and drive the frt tire into the empty space, then strap the handlebars to the wall, works like a darn.
Next time I need something shipped Ill be sure to ask you about it Grant. I mean I have lots of connections here through work, but it never hurts to have more!
Well a harley wouldnt have that kinda power-weight ratio. I think most of the normal 883 harleys have something like 65ish hp, and they weigh quite abit more.
Your shawdow Morris I bet feels pretty safe. Its got about what, 60ish horse,a nd is maybe 500ish lbs?
I was actually looking at a few shadows both 750, and 1100, but in the end opted for a bike I could easily make into a awesome handling gravel burner.
As much as I love riding anywhere, I really like riding out on the gravel, way out in the middle of no where. No one to bother me, no one to stop me from hitting any kind of trails, bush roads, etc that I run across.
By the time you get the skid plate mounted won`t that bring the weight back up to over 400lbs? Yup, the Shadow isn`t made for trail riding or gravel either, I live on pavement which is a real good thing as I really hate gravel and dust whether with one of my old cars, trucks or my bike.
It was cloudy but still a nice day and with absolutely no wind tonite is truly awesome.
Good morning Manitoba/Saskatchewan ! Hope everyone has a wonderful Day
Hi Dennis, what`s your weather like in PA, has it hit any 80`s yet?
I suppose Ont and Manitoba are warmer than we are, it`s not quite biking weather yet. Maybe later this week it will be.

Ya the skid plate will add a little bit, but it will be made out of aluminum and not super heavy duty. With all the weight savings that a guy can do it will always be around the 400ish mark, give or take a few!
The highway gets boring for me, but im a true farm boy. Dirt and dust dont bother me the slightest. Im sure that will change when I get to be older, but right now the dirtier the better I wish I could justify it right now, but Id like a highway cruiser as well, as I dont hate highway cruising, I just would hate being stuck to the pavement. Guess I just like things off the beaten path!

Ya me neither. The one that I got now, its like a dirt bike, and this ktm is about the closest newerish bike that doesnt look THAT bad, and not too much like a crotch rocket.
Wait till I get the continental tkc80 tires on it, and do a few other mods. It will look alot more like an enduro.
I had a hard time choosing a bike for me. I need a full enduro like my xt600 but with alot more power for riding the double lane into work. This was about the closest thing I coudl find, and at just over 4 grand, it was just too cheap to say no! (still gotta figure out what the bke in total has cost me, gotta replace a few things and whatnot, but Im guessing in total Ill be up at 4700ish bucks)
Thanks for the tip G, a cover isn't in the budget this year. I bookmarked the info and will use it later. My neighbor bought a cover a fews years back for his class A and the north winds shredded it to pieces. He couldn't get it tight enough, he's pretty cheap, I think he bought a universal fit type. His new one is on it's second year now.
I have never developed a taste for those krotch rocket looking thingyz...
Have you ever ridden one? With your love and appreciation of power I could see you addicted to one in a hurry. Not the most comfortable units out there tho, thats why I like the longer hypersport bikes...Hayabusa, ZX14, BMW K1300S...
Sherm, my bike days have long passed. I've never enjoyed any street bikes - have taken lots for a drive and never liked them. I used to ride an old Honda CR250 in the day but still have pains from dirt bike days!
