El Nino is suppose to keep the Polar Vortex at bay. The least it snow the more I earn. Just boredom starts to set in. Feel like a Shining moment might set in.

I love snow... Its the cold that hurts...

I'll take warmer than usual if it comes with 10x the snow. I would be perfectly ok with not being able to get to work for a week and have to go sledding...

Thinking of planning a summer holiday/road trip this coming summer. We're unsure where to go. I would like to tour Sk and see the northern country as far as a person can go by road. We would also like to see the Territories and Alaska. Perhaps its the summer to go AWOL and tour the entire summer...

Have a great day everyone!!

Morning everyone.

Morris, that is good news!

I have to agree with you Sherwin, I love snow but I hate cold. If the weather could stay -10 to -20 with no wind and 4 feet of snow all year long that would be the best year ever!

Gerry, when you have lots of money don't forget about the little people.

I have to say if I became a millionaire I would be finding ways to help homeless people get jobs and build more no kill animal shelters. At least I like to think I would still be a kind hearted person. I think those who are not born into money but come into it themselves tend to be more humble than someone who was born rich. If I had lots of money when I have kids, they would still be doing chores and still have to get jobs to see what the real world is all about.

Stay safe and warm everyone!

I have been lucky that as a youngest while living in BC. The entire family did a summer road trip to Nova Scotia to visit father's family. While living in Toronto, I took the greyhound from there to BC both ways. Long boring trip.

I want to tackle ice roads this winter.

I always thought of doing the same, I liked the north when I was trucking there.

I certainly agree on all your points including jobs for the homeless and the no kill shelters, it would be great to combine both.

Morning boys...

Randy, I agree with your millionaire theory except I believe there are a lot of homeless people that choose to be that way. I am 110% with you on the animal shelters though. If I could afford to spend each and every day boycotting and working against cruelty to animals, I would be a happy person. Well...not always happy because of situations we see animals coming out of. For us, our dogs are nearly equal to our kids. The only difference being that we don't have to buy clothes for our dogs, and they do their business outside. Even my laying hens are well provided for and have a chicken life of luxury.

My biggest problem with helping people is that its tough in this modern society to find someone who would take an ounce of help, appreciate it, make it grow, pay it forward, and become a better person. It seems too often that people are more likely to bite the feeding hand than to cherish it. I guess being the better person would be to give without thought of how it will turn out right? I struggle with that...if I give, I like to see my positive efforts multiply. Not just feed the system.

TJ, I've driven coast to coast a few times now, 6 times from SK to NL where I was born and raised and most of my family still reside. I've sledded in BC numerous times also. What I haven't done is wandered aimlessly around with no set destination. I think that would be more fun. Rather than setting out saying we have to get "there", just drive, see the sights, stop when there's something to see/do... The ice roads would be a fun trip!!

Morris, I would like to take up long distance trucking for semi retirement (note the pun). I think it would be awesome to see the world and get paid for it, but with a young family it has to wait until the nest is empty.

Gerry, I'm happy for Friday also.

To everyone else...keep your stick on the ice...

Happy Friday mornin'all. Sherm; We'll have a truck ready for you when you decide to hit the road. What's the difference between a dog and a wife? The dog will quit whining when you let it back into the house. Have a great day guy's, and even better weekend.

It would be a great idea, have them take care of the animals, pay them for it and provide them a place to sleep.

I know what you are saying Sherwin about the homeless for a reason, but I also believe that there are homeless that don't want to be homeless any more. Those are the ones I would give a chance to.

As for animal cruelty, I too wish I could just spend my time rescuing animals. Now with that being said, I'll be the first to admit that I spank my animals. The big thing is I know the difference between abuse and punishment. My dogs usually get warnings when they aren't listening before I resort to spanking. And the only time they get spanked more than once is when they are really bad, like stealing food off the table. When my big dog did that, he got three good smacks on the *** and sent outside.

I was spanked as a child and I turned out great, I think the world is too sensitive now days and everything needs to be politically correct. There is nothing wrong with spanking as long as you keep it to that, one smack on the butt and then sent to their room. I know a lot of people can't keep it to that and that is why they say spanking is bad. It's not the spanking that's bad, it's the people doing it that are bad.

Remember this, trying to be politically correct is like trying to pick up a s-hit by the clean end.

Prime example, I moved here from Toronto and knew little of why natives here where treated so badly. Fully understand now why. Most not all live up to their stereotype. Hard to help someone that will just abuse that help. The entire flood relief money given to them was mis-managed and wastefully spent. Why should I feed a homeless native and give that person the ability to thank me by breaking into one of my trucks.
