If you want a 4wd longbed crew you'd have to make your own. If you want a 2wd longbed crew those were produced from Ford.

My 77 4wd crew cab had the frame lengthened to accomadate an 8' bed, I have 2....... 4wd short bed 4wd crew cab frames,1 is a 74 and the other is a 78... a 2wd long bed crew cab frame and a 4wd reg cab long bed 4wd frame if someone wanted to convert or switch a 2wd to 4wd, 1 of the 4wd crew cab short bed frames...the 74.. may be going. Infoford did a sweet conversion along w/ some other guys

ok I was just checking an see what I might be getting into. I was thinking of going 2wd to 4wd an short bed to long bed but was not sure what was involved. I am planning to move to colorado come spring so I figured a 4wd would be better an a long bed for hauling stuff with. but I heard someone that if you swapped frames it would mean a reconstruct title for it. Is that true or false? they said it was federal law from a few years back.

78_F800crewcab4x4, Did you do a build-up thread on your build? I found fourdoorbronco.com had some builds, i am gonna do some research before I start anything to do it safe and right hopefully. I measured the difference between a reg cab longbed and my crew/bronco and have about a 1/2" difference btwn the two. I have a '79 F250 3/4 ton 4x4 w/a 429 and c6 that may be my frame and drivetrain! Now I need to figure out the body fabs!

Unfortunately, all of my photos are on film that never got developed. I will probably build another someday.

specifically which panels? im sure this thread has alot of info on it already. The roof is the tough one, which is why i stress for people to remove the headliner and rustproof the underside edges if they dont have rust-through yet, otherwise, you are fabricating.

Pics?

Lift Options

Hey guys, I am looking for a little help. I am wanting to do about a 6"-8" Lift on my 1973 Crew Cab, the only lifts I have found are 4" for this year. I want to go all spring (no blocks). Would a lift for a 77.5-79 F250 work or are the springs different sizes or something?
The leaf springs I have on it now are stock, the Rears measure 2 1/4" wide and the Fronts are 3" wide. I have heard story's about people using newer Super Duty springs etc... Anyone got a lift like I want on thier rig? Any help is appreciated and pics are great too!
Thanks

Deaver spring can set you up with lift springs. Or do a search for the super duty springs on here. I know Ed (75F350) has covered it in depth, multiple times. His truck has the ride height you desire and it rides GREAT. It also flexes really nicely. So nicely in fact that I need to keep supplying him with new fenders since his tires get into them so often

Haven't posted in this thread in so long.
Ya know one of my dream trucks would be a Crewcab dually 4x4 converted to a cummins with a 5speed. Man that would be awesome.
Put 36" mud boggers on it and those smoke stack pipes and a cool paintjob and I'm in Heaven.

I need to get rid of my crew cab, anyone on here interested before i sell it to a construction worker who plans to just use and abuse it? I would like it to go to a good home since i have spent so much time protecting it. After talking to him, the guy has no intention of keeping it up, he just wants a truck that can carry brick and hold 4 guys that wont break.
