I have an 80 f100 ranger about to turn 375000. The engine and drivetrain are all original. In the last 8 months all its needed was a new waterpump. Starts every morning, and has never left me stranded.
I bought a 94 E-150 with 204,000 on it done some misc. work to it and my son just got back home to Maryland from Louisville Ky. he said the mountains gave her hell ! but I figure it's a Club Wagon Chateau 3.08 gears full of 260 + lb. redneck boys it done great! did'nt use any oil either.
hmmm, i think mine has just over 300k in an 83 f-150, driven hard and put away wet... many times over again
i think i prefer to measure the distance the truck has come in memories, it brought me home from hospital, first truck, first drag race (and first victory), first long kiss.... i'll finish it up, i'd say its got a good memory for every mile, why else would anyone want an old truck? nostalgia baby... and one bulletproof motor!!
Sounds like mine is just barley broke in compared to others. I just rolled over 150,000 making it my 50th oil change. Still less than 1/2 quart used between changes.
1st engine= 212,000 miles. Running good, water pump failed on freeway, overheated, cracked head etc.
2nd engine= 190,000 miles. Leaking head gasket, stripped head bolt when replacing gasket.
3rd and current engine 10,000 miles and looking good.
I have enjoyed driving this truck for 18 years and am looking forward to another 18 years at the wheel.
