This one caught my eye; "4.5L V6 Diesel Powerstroke ". Sounds like another bad to the bone 6. Where did you hear about these engines? Where can I read up on them?
Diesel Power Magazine. It's rumored that Ford wants to use it in the F-150, so they can bring to market a "light duty" diesel for superior fuel economy and towing performance. It's built by International, and is part of the "Max Force" engine line. However,it's also rumored that Toyota is trying to work out a deal for the same engine, so we'll see who rolls out a diesel powered heavy half ton in the next 2 of 3 years.
1987 E-150 with the 4.9 and C6. Mileage is about 75k miles (132000 km). The van is in pretty horrible shape aside for the driveline but that's all I really need. I keep it as far out of site as possible for the most part. The only work it's had aside from regular maintenance was a manifold gasket and oil pan gasket. Well, that and lots of rust patching!

That would be absolutely awesome if Ford began to crank these out. I would have to have one in my F150. What if Toyota gets it though? Does this mean Ford won't be making them? Toyota has enough going for them, I bet they'll get it.

Ford might get it too even if Toyota does it. Toyota will probably do it first, since Ford seems to like to talk about great ideas that they never get around too. They procrastinate too much. Even though they hae been talking about it for a long time, they never seem to get to it.
My 95 has about 155K and is still going strong. I wish I could say the same for the garbage that Ford calls a front suspension that is slowly being replaced with parts from older trucks as it rusts out.

I think I have one of the newest Ford's on here with the most miles. 94 with over 200 k. About the suspension; dad and I have already had to fix the front end. I could barely keep it on the road past 50 MPH. :P
The 300 six will run forever if you just change the oil once in awhile. My 79 beater clocks less than 500 miles a years now, but it got me through high school and college. You know how hard a kid can be on a truck. That motor never caused my any real problems, and I ran it as hard as I could.
The truck has well over 200,000 miles on it. I have no idea the exact milage because the odometer quit working years ago.
Even my Chevy friends acknowledge the durability of the 300 six.
I've owned that truck for about 14 years now, and will never sell it. Every spring I charge the battery, change the oil, squirt a little gas in the carb and she fires up, ready for another season of hauling brush to the recycling center and whatever other dirty chores I have.
'94 F-150 Short bed super cab with auto overdrive and 3.08 gears. 267k miles and still going strong. Ethanol knocked it from 19.5-20MPG to 17.5-18MPG. 8(
ha i think i win, i have a 1994 f150 xlt with the inline six engine, the engine is relatively new but the truck itself has 290k miles....wow beat that! have gone through a couple of trannies before i got it and the engine was replaced a while back.
It will roll up on 268k today. I put a water pump on mine at about 255k. and 2 sets of ball joints, and 3 alternaotrs. 2 sets of U-joints. Replaced all fuel pumps about 220k. Same tranny and rear-end. Idler arm wore out too. The PULLY wore out. 8)
Put 2 sets of wheel bearings on the front hubs. Pretty much it except for tires and other consumables.

Reason: forgot something
I have a 95 F150 4.9 5 gear with 99,000. but I just sold a 71 that I paid 300 dollars for 30 years ago it has 495,000 and is still going strong.
I also had a 76 4X4 that I used to deliver large sail Boats with I would drive it back and forth from the east cost to the west cost. it had 689,000 when I sold it with only a valve job at 350,000
