1990- 112,000, replaced altenator, waterpump (2), starter cylinoid. Burns about 1/2 quart oil (10-40) every 4 tanks of fuel! Great Truck!! Ordered it new!
well im hear again! I hit 203,000 just yesterday! And still now emgine work, well just another alt. damn i gota stop blowing those, damn sterio and muddin. Good luck to all in the race to a million miles!!!!!
1988 f-150 lariat w/52,000 miles, just gave it its first tuneup spark plug wires were stamped 1988 and the cap was original as well as the plugs had the factory paint mark on them. The heck of it is it runs the same as it did before(which is fine) so I probably didn't have to spend the $ but i just bought it and want it to be reliable.
I pulled the 4.9 down in my old truck when I tore it down last spring, it had a broken head bolt and the rod bearings were down to the coppers, but it ran strong with no complaining except a little coolant seepage at that head bolt area there at the end and a some knocking the first few seconds after a cold start.
Truck had obviously never been maintained ($700 truck) with 189k on it when I bought it and 204k when I found a truck in better shape and retired it. They are tougher than nails.
I brought my 1992 300 straight six new. I have 198,000 and still running strong. Been driving it almost every day since I brought it. Great Truck Great Engine. All I do is the general maint. like changing oil Castroil 10W30 and Fram Oil filter every 3K to 4K miles and Air filters ever 12K. I did just get a new paint job and True Duals with no cats. I said I was going to rebuild the engine before I got it painted and got the duals but I got tired of waiting on the engine to go. When it does decide to go I hope to rebuild and keep on going for another 200K.
The 4.9L in my 1990 F150 2wd has 95,000 and it runs like new. I have only replaced the alternator due to a bad wiring job by the previous owner. Other than that, my 300ci. doesn't leak a drop of fluids and gets great gas mileage. It is such a solid engine. I'm planning on driving this one into the ground. It might outlast me.
Well I will post a few of the trucks that I used to own.
1990 F-150 4x4 309,000 miles at last check with about 45,000 of them being fairly hard ones when I owned it. Put a clutch in at about 180k deleted the ac and changed out power steering pump at the same time. Water pump at 210,000. Other than that has been just belts, hoses, u-joints, breaks, and other wear items.
1979 F-150 4x4 504,000 miles at last check just had its second engine installed by its current owner. This truck has been worked its entire life on farms (when I had it I drove the crap out of it and worked it on the farm as well). Mostly has been wear parts although I grenaded the 4 speed at 401,000 from doing a brake lock. Nine inch rear went the week after the tranny was swapped from doing another break lock. Feel so sorry for this truck but have the feeling that the current owner will still be working it around the farm and driving it to the cafe till the day he dies.
1982 F-150 4x4 107,000 when I sold the motor. Truck still ran like a top, quit driving it daily because it was badly rusted from sitting in a field for 5 years before I got it. Turned it into a off road beater and ended up rolling it. Still ran but got more for the motor than I paid for the truck (only paid $150 for it sold the motor for $300) so I parted it out)
1984 F-150 4x4 168,000 had continual problems with the carb and the driver side cab corner rotted out so bad I had to have stuff shoved between the cab and the box to be able to close the door. Passenger side door had a habit of just opening up going down the road because of a worn latch assembly. Sold it to a guy that swapped on a 2wd cab and changed the carb to a aftermarket unit. Still on the road today. Current mileage unknown.
None of these trucks were fast but they were darn hard to kill. Great engine!

1995 f150 5 speed with 168,000...my dad gave it to me after driving it for 11 years and it still runs like a top...never had a problem with it...still has the factory clutch!!
I've had 3 4.9's an 87 got rid of it at 120,000 (mistake) a 95 with 160,000 that ran like new and I now have a 92 with 48,000 miles on it . I've only had it for a week, but I expect it to last for many years
