Morning all. Made it to the saltwater show in Salem last weekend. Small show but it was good to catch up with folks I have not seen in years. Many years in some cases. Skipped the Sportsmen show the week before as I was getting over a cold and frankly didn't want to go north to Portland. Since moving a little further south, going north of mac and salem is not something I like to do. Monday, I helped a buddy unload 3 trailers of SxS "stuff" from a business they bought out in SLC. I guess he's partnered with a dude and they will be building SxS accessories like roll cages, doors, and other trinkets. Got the Jeep to Newberg for the battery recall. I guess I can start plugging it in again. Debating on weather to try and advertise it for sale again. I don't need 3 rigs but if I can't get rid of it, I'm stuck. On the other hand, the truck just sits which is not the end of the world since it is likely my last truck. Looks like the weather will be nice for a while and the grass needs to be mowed....again... in February... again. smh. Filling out the last of the end of employment paperwork. Hope I start getting all of my "retirement" pay soon.
Enjoy the time off Chris. I won't rub it in too much how some of us have reached the never ending vacation. It's not bad duty if you can get it.
Rich, Before I retired my truck set a lot, mostly used in the summer to haul my cab over camper. I ended up having a problem with the DEF fluid getting old from not being used. Long story but I had in for a extended warranty on a DEF heater and the dealer stated the DEF tank was contaminated and wouldn't warranty the heater. They talked me into replacing parts I don't think needed to be replaced. After a fight they reimbursed me for the heater and some labor. I think all that would have been needed was to fix the heater and put in new DEF.
Now I use the truck a lot more sometimes even to just run to town for an item at the hardware store.
Good afternoon, Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Made it back from Washington on Sunday and been sick with an unwanted bug the grandkids shared with me. Been real busy around here. We're taking off to the Valley in a little bit. My last living Aunt passed away and the funeral is in Salem tomorrow. She was the last of my dad's siblings.
After the funeral it is straight back to Bravo. My son is coming up with his Better Half and granddaughter. Granddaughter, (she's 17 and the one that had the liver transplant at 6 months old) has never seen the place and been bugging dad to bring her up.
Monday we'll go back to the valley and spend most of the week down there. A couple of meetings to go to. Diana has a CT and a doctor appointment, and I have my annual Cancer exploratory and exam at the VAMC in Portland.
Rich, I didn't go to the Sportsman's Show or the Saltwater show as we were in Washington. From what I heard from the people I usually go to the shows with every year, I didn't miss much. I need to check dates for the Central Oregon show in Redmond and go to that one. It's much smaller, but more of a pleasant country atmosphere.
Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Survived the funeral, good visit with all the cousins and then headed back to Bravo. Got in around 1945. Kids will be here in the morning.
