23500 miles. I’m still offshore but had my truck brought to my mom’s house after the a/c was fixed. My mom went to bring it to my house after and a check engine light came on. Now the code says catalytic converter not operating as efficiently as it should.
my question for you all that are way smarter, when replacing the entire A/C would they have to remove anything pertaining to the emission system? Wondering if the dealer messed it up or if I’m just that lucky guy
My f350 xlt 7.3 was built November just after the strike ended. Got 45k miles now and has been flawless. A/C flawless. I like it so so much better then the 2019 Lariet 6.7 I had. So many improvements that I wanted.
Well, it’s just odd having these issues outside of the trouble dates. Ive had several superdutys, like 12, and for the most part the ac has been great and flawless…except my 2022 sometimes was slow to cool down a hot truck, and took longer than average to go arctic. Same with this 2024. It’s not the quickest. Past superduty would be quicker. I got in my truck Friday, it was 90f outside. I was leaving the city where i was working. Sitting in traffic it was not the greatest. 35 minutes later it going down the road it was arctic. I have an infrared temp gun i keep up front because this truck falls at the end of the dates and i was getting sub 20f inside vents at times. It was managing the evaporator pretty dang good. But it just like the 2022 is slower to get there.
well, not what happens when these March of 2024 lots go bad. It went from ice cold to, “who turned on the heater?!?!” Then a few minutes and curse words later the AC was back on until eventually the AC never came on. This happened with the family in the truck as we were hauling for a trip…

Depends on how long you have been offshore. I do not believe there is anything related to the emissions system that is touched with the replacements. My shop completed it from under the truck and it took only 6 hours which included removal, install and charge.
my thoughts are that your DEF has crystallized. This is common when DEF sits for a while. This is an expensive trip to the dealer to clear it.
thank you FEDs for low sulfur diesel and the requirement for DEF. Ugh.
Fingers crossed, my truck fell under the time period where the 5th wheel hitch was welded incorrectly, but so far the compressor has been fine. 20K miles so far. It is also during the period where the compressors fail.
Add me to the thread. Purchased a 2024 F-250 XL SRW in January with a couple hundred miles on it. Not a daily driver so just hit about 3,400 miles and now no AC in Texas. Good thing it's been unseasonably cool (unfortunately too wet!). Will take it to the dealer in a couple weeks. Wish me luck!
Add me to the list of failed compressors. Build date of 2/24. Air conditioning started to get intermittent in the past few months as sometimes it would be just cool and other times it would be pretty cold but still not very cold. 12,400 miles on the odometer. I thought it was just me until my fiancé mentioned a few times that she was uncomfortable driving around, and she is always cold natured so I knew something had to be wrong. Not sure what else they are replacing, but my dealer just notified me that a compressor is on order so I guess I’ll enjoy driving around this loaner F150 that they gave me until then.
Not sure what my build date is, early 2025. Brand new 2025 F250 and my AC will go warm on me for 10 seconds at a time, then go back to cold.... Only does it very occasionally, but started doing it almost immediately after we bought the truck. The truck will also HOWL from under the hood which is I assume the AC compressor doing something strange. But it does that just sitting in the driveway not even running. Dealer told me there is no problem.
2025 F250 XL STX 7.3

You don't have a wolf stuck under your hood, do you?
It sounds like somebody is dragging a massive piece of sheet metal across another piece of sheet metal. It's an awful sound. I have a video of it if interested!
Oof. Just got my 2024 F-250 XL with 4,500 miles back from the Dealer. After keeping it for a week and saying they kept trying to get the AC to blow warm with no luck. The good 'ole "couldn't repeat the problem so here it is back". Guess I get to play tag until they can find it on their watch. I'll keep score re: how many times it blows hot and I return it. Next time it blows hot (or not cold) I'll bring it right back.

# Times to Dealer: 1
Same exact issue I had. Said they couldn't do anything unless a VERY specific test, mandated by ford, would fail in their service bay. Well when they tested my truck, it didn't fail. So I was out of luck. My AC only goes warm for 10 or 20 seconds.. .then works fine the rest of the hour or day, so there is just no way in hell it's going to be reproducible at the dealer when I take it in. It will just never happen.
