Evening Tim and Nikolas. Rainy here and damp again. Started a fire in the furnace for the Mrs. shower room temps! Takes the chill off and helps dry things out from the horrendously humid Summer.
The car was nice, there were quite a few entries, for some reason I didn't even take one photo. There was only one Bronco, there was a Ford 427 Cobra. A couple of Pantera's, a couple cars with the big 6-71 type blowers, several really nice 60s and 70s mussel car's, a couple of older BIG Cadillac's and a few other older Giant cars. Maria really liked a 1966 Barracuda, with an apartment sized trunk and window. And again for the life of me I don't know why I didn't snap any photos.
Went picking blackberries with two of my girls. Came home and made 12 jars of jam. My process of deseeding was taking way too long. So, two jars have no seeds.
Evening Tim and *****. We really like tomato juice. When we can out tomatoes we don't really cook them down first so when they are done it is nearly 1/3 or more juice! Tasty!
*****, that jam looks great, and personally I like the seeds so I will be over with some English muffins!
Merry Monday Washington, Tim, Willie, Steve, Ken and all the crew. It was beautiful weekend in my woods of WV and today is going to be another beautiful day. Started at 39° and headed to about 78 sunny degrees!
Maria, that is a nice looking jar of yellow tomato juice. we grow yellow tomatoes and my grandparents did also. But I never remember them canning yellow juice but lots a red juice!
Wife is still working on Apples and She will be making an Apple Jalapeño jelly/jam something. Sounds pretty good.
This was Saturday and the 3rd canning, apple pie filling!
10 pints and one half pint!
Evening Tim and Ken. Our blackberries started out looking great then a two-week dry spell and they were suddenly not worth picking. we did have a great blueberry crop though!
The deer that make their way through the lawns every nite have decided they like tomatoes and Rhubarb! They never use to touch them before! I have grown a few yellow tomatoes. In the past I have had Yellow Brandywine variety.
I love jams and jellies but you can keep your jalapenos, and any other pepper, for that matter. I'm not a fan of peppers at all. Just don't like the flavor. Never have. Not long after I met my wife, (to be, at the time) her and my sister came over to my house and made a giant batch of strawberry jalapeno jam. Stunk up my house for a week, and ruined, imho, about 20 jars of what could have been delicious strawberry jam. That was the last time that ever happened.
