Started the day at 33° kind of a trend going here headed to the mid 50s again. The sun is out and not many clouds at present. It seems getting ready for winter takes a long time around here, going to put plastic up on the chicken house windows today. Get some heaters set in some of our storage location for things we don't want frozen. And I'm sure there will be a dozen other things to do also along the way. My wife hasn't made it back from feeding Donkey Odie yet, she always has a list of things to do.
On the way to pick up the kiddo at 1:30pm I saw the temp go up to 62 degrees! I'm really looking forward to cold winter temps and I hope we get a bunch of hard freezes to hopefully kill off some of the populations of nuisance bugs.
On the weekend we change the clocks I've added winterizing to the list of things to do/check. I put insulated covers on all the outside faucets, drained all of my garden hoses and put incandescent bulbs into temp/timer devices in the chicken coop and pump shed. I also serviced/winterized my yard power equipment and rotated thru a bunch of my unleaded gas storage.
One thing I'm really looking forward to this weekend is setting my giant pile of yard waste into a bon fire!
Fantastic Friday Washington, Tim, Ken, Wayne, Nicolas, Ken, Steve and all the crew.
Sorry for not dropping by but I have been down with whatever has been going around. I feel some better today but not up to par yet. Started the morning at 45°, full sun and headed to about 67° and most of the weekend will be about the same.
As for winterizing, most has already been taken care of but I have a couple of things to do at the barn before the Big Freeze happens!
Good happy Friday WA and friends, foggy here this morning and 35 degrees. Can barely see across the street and definitely not down to the lake. It's been well below freezing the last few days with heavy frost in the mornings, getting up into the 50's by mid day. If the fog sticks around awhile, it's not going to warm up much. I guess winter is approaching.
Rod, I hope you start feeling better real quick. I caught a cold a couple weeks ago, still some lingering stuffiness, I fell good other then that.
It's still been nice around here, mid 50s during the day and mid 30s at night. We got a lot completed yesterday, but not much today. We did hit the grocery stores and stocked up for a bit came home and I got a nap in, that grocery shopping is a lot of work, LOL.
