Essentially, yeah. I've added almost 1 MPG across the board. I mean, it's not a lot but it's better than going the other direction! Around 14 MPG before with the boat, 15 MPG now. Can't wait to do some unloaded highway testing. I should be able to see 20 MPG all highway, which is amazing on a 7,700 lb. truck with 35" tires.

My local shop did mine, with tunes that came from a guy in Ohio. I felt better about staying local. However, if I was going to mail order something AMDP or whatever from Canada seems to be the one that gets best reviews on the owners' groups on social media.

Does your exhaust stink when at idle? Mainly thats what is holding me back, aside from the $41,000 reasons, but as long as there is no indications that it is deleted, such as smoke and smell and being overly loud, I can get away with it here, and if testing ever does become an issue, I can restore to factory as I would hang on to everything. I did like the extra power the 2012 had, it was a BEAST but it smoked and stunk. Now I bet I could have got a different tuner and taken care of it, but there was more to getting rid of it than just the smell and smoke.

If it's a stock power tune or a low power adder tow tune, it probably will not smoke or much at all but I don't think there's any getting rid of the smell that comes with a deleted truck or even the older 7.3/6.0/6.4 (6.4s are mostly all deleted due to the bad emissions design they had) and other brands that are deleted and older.

I believe it was you who brought up the stench that ULSD fuel gives off when burned...

My buddy's 15 6.7 with the heavy tow tune from a CA company, he ordered the optional muffler, was relatively quiet and really didn't smoke at all. His factory tail pipe tips were clean IIRC.

But a LEO with a boneyay for deleted trucks and who knows what's not stock, the smell will give it away everytime, and even the non-OEM tail pipes if installed.

Yeah, I can't stand the smell of ULSD, even from my old Kubota which has mechanical injection. Doesn't smell anywhere near what the old diesel smelled like, I liked that smell, wasn't acrid like ULSD.

yea it stinks. initially its "oh this smells like freedom" but after a few minutes its annoying if youre around teh tailpipe and there isnt a breeze. with a muffler however sound is fantastic.

unrelated. i'm selling mine tomorrow. its been appraised by 2 dealers, neither of which said anything about the diet program. YMMV. not relevant since my buddy is buying it anyways and the weight loss program was a selling point for him.

If I bought a F150 I would get the 5.0.

My wife has been working me over to get her a new or newer truck.

^^^^THIS^^^^^

Yep... Me too. When my truck was in for the last two warranty jobs, they have Avis rentals right there and I got to drive a F150 with the Coyote both times... they have great acceleration and a nice growl. Ecoboost engines are nice too but if i bought one, it would be the V8 for the sound and reliability. Those new 5.0s are overbuilt on the bottom end and capable of taking the pounding of a add on supercharger.

nah the 350 is a 6.2
150 is a 3.5. 5.0 was the goal, but options were limited.

My Flex has the 3.5 EB, 181K miles and climbing. I drove both the 5.0 and the EB and prefer the quick acceleration of the EB and towing with it is hands down far better than the 5.0, closer to the 6.7 in terms of pulling power, relatively speaking of course. I have had both in F-150's and towed the same trailer with both, the EB was just much easier doing the job and didn't scream it's head off going up a grade. Of course NEITHER can compare to the 6.7! That was the one thing I liked about the deleted one, it pulled like mad.
