Finished up some more paperwork for Klamath County Tax Man, or in this case Tax Woman. They are trying to figure out how much to tax us on property and a building we don't own and don't want to pay taxes on.

These gals are probably not too happy....or maybe they are. The sprinklers part of this area come on at 2100. Didn't seem to bother them too bad. They stuck around until about 0500.

Made it up to Bravo Compound. This was one was not pleasent. 3 hour delay on I5 near MP223 due to a bad wreck. Missed our dinner date with friends at Pioneer Truck Poaza. In fact it was closed up by the time we got out of the mess and to the Plaza. More delay for a fire in the Coburg area…Really late dinner/early breakfast at Denny’s in South Eugene. Took forever to get coffee. We’d have left if we hadn’t have ordered already. #1son finally went and got up and went and talk to a wait staff acting manager and got things moving. Turns out just before we walked in they had gotten orders for hundreds of boxed meals for fire crews. There were two waitresses and one cook. Big boss was on his way in & they were calling more staff in. Then Fire rigs and tankers taking on water up 58 just added icing to the cake.
FedEx was supposed to be here with the Starlink System no later than 1700. They still haven’t showed. I have 3 different systems to set up plus a robot vacuum AND as it turns out, I need a WiFi internet system to set all of up. So, everything is waiting on FedEx. The are still saying it will be delivered by end of business today but their tracking chart is showing it in Salem Thursday afternoon, then departing Salem yesterday morning arriving in Troutdale at 2225 last night. As of 5 minutes ago it shows it still in Troutdale - but it will be delivered today! Yeah, right!
I’m worried it’s going to be another thing like a year ago. Troutdale - Oakland Ca, back to Troutdale then to Fire - Kennewick - Troutdale - Salem and then finally to my door step.
It was otherwise a nice day here. Both pickups unloaded 1/2 warehoused and 1/2 moved into the house and set up. We went down to the pond where the the kids heeler tried ‘heeling’ some frogs. Frogs won that contest. Then down to the river for some wading and cooling off. Dog did a pretty good job of giving everyone showers.

Dawn Patrol around the place was completed. No 'bad' varmints noted. Lots of Golden Mantles running around in the Pine Forest. A few tree squirrels gave me the 'what for' for trespassing in their territory.

Been my feelings for quite some time now.
I made a request to both outfits to NOT ship FedEx. It's apparent that both ignored that.
Starlink was supposed to ship to Sheridan, but they shipped to the 'service' address instead. Since it was supposed to be here yesterday, I wasn't too concerned. Now I don't know. FedEx new delivery date is "pending but currently unknown". When I called their customer service all you get is a computer. Gave a menu of options but when you entered the number the computer just kept saying "I don't understand" or "I haven't gotten a response". After several minutes of pushing "6" the computer said "Since I'm not getting a response, I am ending this call" and the line went dead.
The other packages with some cameras, smoke, CO2 and freeze detectors were supposed to arrive Friday. It got moved to Saturday by FedEx for unknown reasons. I put a vacation hold on that one until Tuesday which they acknowledged in writing. So, yesterday afternoon I got a tracking notification that they were unable to deliver or leave the package "as instructed" because no one was home to sign for it. They will try again on Monday between 11:00 AM and 5:PM. - even though they have acknowledged the Vacation Hold until Tuesday. Just seems stupid and aggravating.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 52 and overcast. Have some smoke haze this morning, most likely from the Bedrock and the new Salmon Fires. "As the bird flies" Bedrock is about 50-55 miles and Salmon is about 35 - 40 miles. Considering the terrain - mountains and other factors, with the exception of wind currents blowing the smoke in, the fires may as well be in Canada.
