Good afternoon. Shortened day that will end with a beer. 30yr employee is retiring and today is his last day. I'm down 2 staff and little prospects for new folks. Good thing the excavator broke down as I was going to load trucks for a while.
Weekend will be catchup stuff from being out of town last week. yay!
Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else.
Long meeting today regarding security equipment for the range. A couple of us did manage to squeeze in an hour of range time after the security equipment meeting. I had the Savage 93R17 and he had a Tikka .17. We decided to make it interesting and shoot clothes pins off the target webbing at 100 yards. Ended up pretty much in a draw. Two of his shots just barely clipped the wood. Mine were all solid. We're still discussing who owes who a beer.

Howdy Ian. Glad you visited. Don't be a stranger.
Funny coincidence. The person's name I was shooting with this afternoon is Ian.

Good morning Jim.
Hopefully he is a good man and upholds the name with honor 😁
I have no idea what those two guns are, but they sound interesting.
Lately I have mostly been on a 7mm mag roll since buying myself a new Christensen last year.

Howdy Ian. He's a pretty good guy. We give him a hard time over his last name but we all have our crosses to bear.
.17 HMR (HMR = Hornady Magnum Rimfire) is a 17 cal. rimfire Hornady originally developed about 21-22 years ago by necking down a .22 magnum to .17. My Savage and his Tikka are both bolt action. You could say I've got the Ford Mustang and he's got a plain jane chevy. Varmint and target shooting is about all they can effectively be used for. His Tikka looks like just about any other conventional design bolt action with a black synthetic stock. My Savage 93R17 has a thumbhole wood stock.
