I aquired my '90 F150 3 years ago from a dealership. they claimed a little ol' dude had it from new till then. It looked great but stock. The first week I had it, The paint peeled off the hood. I never got around to painting it and prob. never will.
It now has it's share of dents, scratches, lumps and such. I can pretty much tell a story of any given one.

Character for sure.

Dan.

I've farmed all mylife, and what I've noticed around here is most farm trucks are just plain no do-dads no nothing, some farm kids will have their trucks decked out with lots of stuff, my old chev in high school was the apidamy of farm kid truck, chrome running boards, loud dual exhaust, sliding rear window with the curtains, chrome rims with big tires in the back, mud flaps with the chrome strip at the bottom, gun rack on the back window with rope, and the most important thing that my truck had was 4 different colors over the body, and the last thing would be a stars&bars licence plate on the front.
I have a new chev 4x4 3/4ton but my old Ford is a 2 wheel drive and the chev for driving on the farm the truck rarely comes out of 4wd. alot of young hotshots in town all have jacked up trucks with loud exhaust and wide tires and decked out with shiney things and lots of lights ,looking like a christmas tree, but I shouldn't be hard on the young, cause there's and old guy here in town, oh about late 50's I'd guess? anyway he has a 96 F150 2wd. Eddie Bauer edition truck, and man is that thing done to the limit, chrome push bar with 4 lights, cab lights, visor on the roof, chrome running boards, chrome bed bars with little lights on them, chrome tool box, plastic rear window louvers, mudflaps with chrome stripe at bottom, nd he has a 73 F150 almost decked out the same way but painted slime green.
I'm not knocking anyone or their ride.
But I do have a cackle at some of these redneck trucks as they show that their hicks too but their expensive tires have never seen cow manure.

thats my Canadian rant, input.... some what welcome!

mustang man just go and beaf up the truck liek the big pipes as bumpers or use big timbers. make it look nice, really nice all the ninda crap you want dont go and put **** liek one mud flap on and one mudflap off. wait till they fall off. these things that happen such as cracked windows show how great( hard the truck works). nothing replaces or can recreate the styple of a hard working truck. thats its life story all the rust and dents and dingds and broken windows and duct tape having a pourpose liek as a gas cap or using ductape to hold on the muffeler when it starts to rust off. dont go and cut the muffler off just wait till it rusts off makes it look mroe orriginal and well atleast you dont mean to ruin anything. thats a true truck if you want to pourposly break things thats just not right.

the dents and dings are like the rings on a tree they tell the life story of how hard that truck worked you can see when soemone is a real ***** by how nice their truck is. if they drive hard and work their truck hard it will show.

how this has helped you all understand you cant recreate a life of a truck, what are you gunna say when they ask why is their a hole in the tailgate? well you see here i was out hunting and the truck wasnt set in park allt he way and it rolled backwards and hit a big *** tree and i had to sit their for and hour or so trying to lodge the tree branch out of the tailgate because it actually punctured througth the tailgate. you cant make a story like that up.

or say a cain breaks when your tring to tow a vehicle out of a ditch and it smaks the side of the truck and shatters the window( not compleatly broken out it is stillin hoel glass. and what you do is put duct tape ont he window and leave the lash mark on the side of the truck. you will ahve fun telling stories.

but if your explination of why you have a broken leaf spring is, well i cut off the mount . WTF is with that thats truely a puss

just drive the truck hard and the stories will come

and if you g
crap cant finish bell is anout to ring, later!

This thread needs to be laid to rest.
Its way off course, and doesnt have anything to do with the subject anymore.

What does this post really say about our views of people in general, stereotyping people in this category or that just by the way their truck looks. What would historians who read this 100 years from now think? That we glorified or made fun of certain people because what we perceived as being right or wrong with the cosmetic looks of a vehicle? I have to agree this post is becoming something more out of Monty Python, than a question for assistance. I hope the moderator of this forum, closes this post once and for all.

the ultimate hick truck would be a old 1/2 ton reg cab long box with a v8 vinyl seat am radio rusted out boxsides and top of fenders bad body sag severly dented tailgate another nech seat bolted in the box for extra ppl to be in random stickers on the back window a crak in teh windshield and a holy exhaust. you also nedd steel rims with no hubcaps and maybe extra reverse lights posiibly a push bar on the front. The box sides have to be dented along with the rest of teh body parts and it has to ave a rubber fool mat so you can hose mud out. The lighst on top of that cab are dedfinetly cool also must have a trailer hitch and a couple wires hanging from the bottom lots of crap in teh box to

Well, it's been an interesting and fun thread, I've enjoyed following it's many twists and turns.

Bottom line is a truck in as individual as the person who drives it. (At what point in life have you NOT gotten along with your vehicle?)

Good luck to all, take care"Rebel", seeya on the booards.
