I thought most real redneck trucks had a cow bell hanging from the front bumper.

A REAL HICK truck has a couple gas and diesel fuel tanks in the bed, couple of spare tires (but non that fit the truck), parts from various trucks and farm impliments laying in the bed. At least one fender a differant color then the rest of the truck, one door that only opens from the outside (if it opens), cracked front and rear glass and blows blue smoke when starting or idling. Also has a complicated starting procedure and brakes that work after three pumps. Drove that very truck to school for two years.

I'm from the eastern shore of maryland (think of it as west virginia at bout 2 feet below sea level)

Dude, you need a whole rack of diamond plate and those CB whips that light up when you talk

remember, rednecks like shiny things... polish up some beer cans and string them uo like christmas lights

Hicks are very practical... duct-tape, baling wire, cardboard & plastic are often seen on their vehicles in place of OEM equipment.

Rednecks are very flashy... fancy paint (any paint is fancy), lots of chrome and aftermarket parts like antenna and lights.

Both do share loud pipes but for different reasons. The hick usually just has a hole in the OEM muffler. The redneck has purposely removed his muffler.

Generally, rednecks keep their trucks looking fairly nice- afterall, they've spent a ton of money on pretty stuff. There will be the times you see them just after having a little fun in the mud, but most of the time they keep the chrome sparkling.

Hicks, on the other hand, have absolutely no money invested in the repair/upkeep of their vehicles. They are the ones you see driving the truck missing body parts (unless patched with cardboard/plastic) and covered in dirt. The grime isn't from fun though. It's just from driving to/from home on the dirt roads.

So, you really need to pick a genre and outfit your truck accordingly.
i dont think thats necessarily true. rednecks trucks are usually pretty muddy. i dont believe theres much of a difference between rednecks and hicks. they're both country folk, just different titles

LOL, there is a difference between redneck and hick, hicks are your regular country folk, and rednecks would be your welfare country folk who sleep with their own family.

If you want a cool Hick truck, I'll tell you exactly what to do:

First thing is to get big tires, @33's would do: Dick Cepek are the best in my book. Then put some running boards, not your normal gay ones, ones that look like they belong, the one's that start at behind the front bumper and end at rear bumber, only with the step at the door, the rest kind of mold with the truck, You definetly need a sunvisor, one with lights if you do not have cab lights, which I believe they call them moonvisors with the lights installed on them. Then install a racerback on the truck, the flare type thing that bolts to the back of your cab. Then install a cherry bomb or something like that on your exhaust. Then a pic of the rebel flag would top it off, (that is unless your a black person, than the rebel flag would not be a good idea)

ok this forum made me laugh my a$$ of the entire time. i thought of coting my entier truck in hurculiner. my dad thougth that woudl look gay *** hell but seems really cool.

make sure oyu get some actual stacks form a semi that would kick a$$ nice and shiny crome. How about a big 4x6 for the rear bumper and a wooden bed made of 2x4's that would be cool. dotn forget a huge *** roll cage/off-road light bar mounted to the bed.
if oyur nto going to do the smoke stacks at least run true dual exaust/ no headers just turn outs under the door. to keep form cops tickiting you for now muffeler, just cut open the top gut it and then weld a pipe inside to compleate the strigth pipe then weld back on the top and put the "muffeler" back on

have fun great idea would love to do that with my truck but i have no money cause im only 15.
please send me some pics

Okay, guys. Im didnt grow up a country boy, but I live in a little town where all there is to do id Drugs or hotRods...I choose the latter. I getting to where I like trucks, not crappy trucks, nice trucks. Trucks so JC'd out they can barely 0-60 in a minute! I want some country Bling, but none of the trashy stuff like duct tape.

THis is a great forum! I hope we keep it going! I recieved all my Relays from parts Xpress today so I can get my K/Cs hooked up this weekend.

I need a front headlight, and turnsigal lence, and maybe a drivers fender. They are dinged up...

OK- so I'm going to make a suggestion for the ultimate Redneck truck that I am guilty of having myself...

Barbed-wire pinstripes and matching steering wheel cover.
