So just screw the people that do not live in or care to deal with large metro areas? What it should be about is the CUSTOMER period. If they want customers to customer order they need to treat ALL of the orders the same, FIFO. You SHOULD be able to order from the dealer closest to you and receive fair treatment. Favoring dealers is a BS program.
I don't think that is the case. If a small dealer has 10 trucks allocated, and 6 orders, you would do better with them than a large dealer with 30 allocations and 40 orders.
I don't know if a way to know how much allocation a dealer has available other than asking them, which they may be unwilling to share.
Still no updates. Went in production on Sept 2 and now it's Sept 15 and still nothing. Contacted the dealer and the Manager said he doesn't have any updates on his end, I wonder what is holding it up. Estimate dealer delivery is 10/2. I even got my f250 activation button on my fordpass.

Well something is going on and nobody is offering any explanation on the side of the manufacturer. The dealer I ordered from is smaller but in an area that traditionally sells a lot of SD trucks. From what they told me and I could see for myself in the overloaded order file cabinet, they are running over 10 times their normal number of special orders. I understand the shortages of various components, what I do not understand, or find acceptable, is trucks ordered 4 weeks after mine being delivered 6 weeks ahead of mine. The best Ford could say was "we are sorry we didn't meet your expectations". Proof that "customer service" is dead.
So my truck had delivery window of 9/6 to 9/12. According to VVR as of this morning it is still showing arrival at New Boston, Michigan at 6:00 am on 9/5 as the last update. Dealer wasn't exactly a lot of help when I stopped by this morning. My new truck has been sitting an hour and 15 minutes away from me for 10 days. Has this happened to anyone else?

I would think that may be the issue your dealer has 10 x there normal order of special orders with probably the usual yearly allocations. i am just speculating of course but this is not something u could have forseen happening and if that was the case the dealer should have told u that it will be longer wait times. But as Phoenix said this is not info a dealer will share with u because all they care about is getting that sale.
Anyways congrats on the vehicle u found for sale on the lot

Just for reference, what city is your selling dealer located in & what is the ramp code that is shown on your window sticker?
All Right-Tah.
Original order was made 3/26, had a build date of 8/11 but the dealer screwed up and canceled the order 7/30 which I found out in September....soooo the process started over. I stuck with the dealer against the advice of quite a few people as they were bending over backwards to keep me as a customer. Knocked 1500 bucks off the price and were they were able to work with the regional manager to get the truck pushed quicker. With them working with the regional manager was one of the main reasons for me sticking. From Ford today I received my build date of 10/4 and VIN# so back on the sheet as soon as it's updated. We'll see how this works.
