I also have the same problem. I have a 2020 F350 and also has the OEM puck system installed in my truck. Ford is worthless on this. Ford hides behind the dealers and make themselves unreachable. My dealer has had no luck from Ford and it is one of the biggest dealers in the US. They have basically given up on the problem.
LA County of Consumer Affairs have reached out to Ford on my behalf and they have not responded. They are reaching out again and after speaking to them, they are in talks about making this a state wide or National Issue. In all honesty, it's fraud on Ford's role in this. We have paid for the Pro Trailer Assist and the parts we need to make it work work are non existent (at least in availability). In essence we paid for and were sold a vehicle that does not have a working option we paid for. Ford knows it, that is fraud on Ford's part.
They refuse to make themselves for comment of any resolution on this part. There is a memo that outlines this issue, but no resolution. I have attached the document.
Your truck was missing the yaw sensor and harness?
The super duty’s with pro backup come with everything you need. Look in the owner manual. There is a book with the proper stickers. You get 7/4 plug on the bumper. You only get the extra stuff if you ordered the 5 wheel prep. It comes with the bed plug 7/12. The camera system is another extra.
That is not correct. The stickers are only for a bumper pull. The owners manual for the back up trailer assist indicated the items are part of the package and no where does it say it is an add on item. There is an memo from the NHTSB that states trucks were not shipped out with those items and the parts are not available. It is part of the package.
I believe your confusing Pro Backup assist with the 5th wheel prep. The memo is referring to a 5th wheel accessory kit. The window sticker shown above does not include the 5 wheel prep. It would be listed as an add on under options.
if you ordered the 5th wheel prep it would come with a yaw sensor only.
The memo clearly states that trucks were sent without the sensor and the part is not available. He had the Ford Factory 5th wheel installed, like I have by Ford. Why are the parts not available to make the pro back up work with a 5th wheel. Ford advertises it for a 5th wheel, the manual shows it.. Why can't the dealer get the part, why isn't the part in Ford's part's system. The whole thread is about the part not being available.
Does the kit in post #283 have all the parts needed to add the 7/12 plug in the bed? I’m planning to have the dealer install the Ford 5th wheel hitch prep but it looks like it only comes with the 7-pin for the bed. I have PTBA and wanted to be able to use this with a fifth wheel trailer.
The kit shown in #283 is only the YAW sensor. You would need the 7/12 plug. It plugs right in after you remove the 7/4 plug. There is a utube video of an install of the 5th wheel prep package. It is only a 7 pin plug. But, you could change out the one in the bumper for a 7/12 and plug the other kits in there. TPMS, YAW, and camera.

That’s what I figured. Would be great if I could find the part # for the 7/12 plug/harness in the bed so the trailer & yaw sensor could go there. Have looked through several threads but that seems to be the elusive part. Will have to ask the parts guy at the dealership, but not too hopeful.
The part number you seek is “HC3J1A515CCSUB5” this is the 7/12 plug. You would need the special harness with the 7/12 wire. It’s a 3 way harness. It has male/female 7 plugs and a 12 to get up to the body side.
The part number is easy to figure out. HC3J151CC the “sub” means its part of the larger kit. The 5th piece.
I don’t remember where I saw it. But you can snap apart the 12 in male plug and add the other pins from other kits. So if you had a YAW kit you could add the camera kit to the same plug. It would exit the plug with 2 or 3 cables but some electrical tape fixes that.

I found the thread that mentions this part, thanks. Also mentions it’s included with the TPMS/camera kit, so it sounds adding that kit to the mix would get you both 7/12 bumper/bed plugs, required harnesses, etc. to support all available features. Hopefully I’m following all this correctly, Ford doesn’t make it easy do they?
I did find the kit at a few places online for under $600, still expensive but cheaper than backing a trailer into something for sure. I saw a pic of the kit in another thread, shows the 7/12 and what looks like another 12-pin that I assumed would convert the 4-pin on the bumper? Can’t find the instructions to verify.
Mine was an early truck, Feb, and while it took a while I did get the box of goodies eventually. There are posts on here with pictures of the part numbers for all the pieces.
My truck was ordered with 5th wheel prep, including the gooseneck ball, ultimate trailer tow camera, trailer TPMS and trailer backup assist. As such it had the 7 pin/12pin plug in the bed.
the truck shipped with the yaw sensor in the back seat. The box that came later had another 7 pin/12 pin plug that you swapped out for the 7 pin/4 pin plug in the bumper, all the pigtails were taped up behind the spare, they just plugged in to the back of the new bumper plug. Also in the box were 4 trailer TPMS sensors, a TPMS trailer receiver that mounts on the trailer, and the trailer camera that mounts at the back of the trailer. The trailer camera has an attached harness that runs to the front of the trailer. In the box was an additional harness that goes from the 12 pin plug to three connectors. One connector connects to the trailer camera harness, one connector plugs into the TPMS sensor, and one connector plugs into the yaw sensor. I am bumper pull so just left the yaw sensor plug taped up. That whole harness is installed on the trailer, when you hook up you plug the trailer 7 pin in the way you always do, then plug the 12 pin in which gives you the camera and the TPMS.
I have it all installed, it works great, you have to train the TPMS sensors just like on the truck, but now that it is set up I plug in and go.
I have a 2021 f450 limited with 5th wheel .My yaw sensor and cable was in the truck at time of delivery.I received LC3Z-1A189-A about a week later from my dealer. This was just as described in the above post.I ordered it with my truck but my 42' trailer was already wired with the earlier harness without the yaw sensor.. I anticipate just doing the pin swap in my original harness .So I will most likely have this full camera tpms kit which has the updated trailer wiring with pigtail for yaw sensor for sale .
