The appraiser did his thing today for insurance purposes. I will be able to report the results next week. Anyone curious? If nobody cares, pipe up on here, and I won’t bother everyone with it...
Lol. Not a bother at all, I’m just one, but I’ve really enjoyed this thread., picked up a few tips along the way too.
I’d be curious what they say it’s valued at today. Prices on trucks, new, used, and classics have gone up so much over the past 10+ years, even in the past year alone, I’m genuinely curious.

Looks like only few, so maybe I will PM you guys the results.
The results are coming later this week. Honestly I do not have a good feel for the value because I have not seen any comparable for sale since I started the project. The goal is to keep the insurance company from low-balling if an accident occurs (young kid side swiped my wifes car less than 3 months after I finished her 1964 Comet and they bent us over).
The appraisal is taking additional time and has been promised for Monday. From the sound of it they are finding comparable sales issues (no recent market sales). To be fair I did try to warn them but asked that they share their comps with me. He didn’t think the insurance guy would understand my personal pricing suggestion of $9999999999999.99 LMBO.
On a different note, it rained last night so I got a pic of the water beading on the new paint (I like seeing the water bead and roll off effortlessly)
It rained here the other day. I know because a drop hit my arm. I stood by the window and counted the drops that hit the window. A deluge here. When I was a kid, my older brother had an Austin Healy Sprite. He rebuilt all the mechanics and had it painted. When he totaled it, the insurance offered I think $150. Just an old car to them. He showed them receipts and photos and got them up to $1500. It's a fight but it can be won.
State Farm said they would honor a professional appraisal. Im guessing that its not subjective once the certified appraisal is published. I hope to never use it!
