Payload Rating Frustrations
I drive a F350 DRW (14k) and often tow my custom Stacker Trailer (capacity of 19.5k).
CA DMV requires weight of trailer be added to my trucks registration (have 35k stickers), since trailer has perm plates.
I have a NON-COMMERCIAL CLASS A drivers license and no logs needed.
100% legal! I don’t tow for $$, only my personal stuff

Only misnomer I said was it’s not including a trailer, it actually includes the trailer so even an F150 or F250 could be caught. Now that doesn't mean you can’t disconnect or have to say where you connected (not that you should be dishonest).
I also think everyone is having to go to electronic logs now at least in my state.?

My next door neighbor was a big lobbyist in the trucking industry before he went into energy. He is one of those guys that can talk a lot, but really smart nice guy.

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
When one buys a pickup, if you want to use it - a few things to consider:
1. Diesel
2. 4x4
3. 4 door
4. Long bed only
5. One ton minimum
Purchase/order to your taste/budget beyond the essentials, enjoy.
I don't know where people come up with this stuff. If its not being used for commercial or business whatever yall wanna “label” it, a CDL is not required.
I have a F350 GVWR 14,000lbs & a 5er RV with a 15,000lb GVWR. Guess im a law breaker?
While is true the the federal cdl rules exempt rvs, many states have adopted their own cdl requirement for rvs.
n most states, RV operators are listed under the exemptions
Check this list to find out if your state requires a CDL.
3 states require a cdl for rv with combined over 26k
16 states require a cdl for varying conditions of gvwr involving rv’s

is my 20k 5th camper pulled by my 14k truck exempt???? Depend on the state.
is my 30k flat bed and 14k truck that pulls my personal racing cars exempt???? Depends on the state.
most states allow RVs with a class D. Some states require class A or B for over 26k. Class D only, not good enough in those states.

In the north east the white marshmallow looking black powder charged are considered low yield explosives and require place cards posted on your vehicle to transport.
so now, if you have place card you need logs.
