Hello! My name is Mike, living in Southern Oregon. Started my 46 pickkup in 92 or 93. Laid off it for at least 7 years. It is what I have called a retro rod. Dropped front axle, single leaf front springs, F-1 front brakes, 292 engine, 3 speed manual, 8 " Granada rearend and brakes, stainless steel cross steering and drag link, vega steering box, 8" full reverse steel wheels front and rear. I really enjoy this site.
Hi. I'm Tom. Have a 1935 1.5 ton stake body truck....belonged to the late Ellis D. Atwood. This guy started Edaville Railroad in Carver, MA. Truck needs a total restoration. Waiting till I finish with all my other projects.
Thanks for the welcome. Some years ago i finally wheedled my first project, a 37 pickup, out of the hands of my friend. A couple years later i picked up a fairly complete, although in need of love, 34 pickup. Did i mention how much i love pickups?
The 37 will be a streetrod since there was no drivetrain...but a fairly original looking rod.
The 34, if i can get it to run, may be restored first...then resto rodded...
I also have a 28/29 sportcoupe and a 28/29 victory six. Both, of which, i have done nothing with.
The 37 is the primary project, but i can't keep my hands off the 34 either. What is one to do?
Hey All
I'm Devan, I have a 1941 3/4 Ford Pickup. I bought this truck in 1993 and used it as a daily driver for about a year and a half. A couple years later I decided to overhaul the engine and never finished, I hope to get started restoring it soon.
Hi,
my name is Paul. I'm a new member and I've been a Ford pickup nut all my life ( a long time). I've got a 46 lo-buck street rod. See 46fordtruck's poll for a description of it. This site looks like it's going to be fun
Hi everyone, I am a new member attempting to make contacts. I have a 42 1 ton PU that I will soon be dismantling. Recently started the original 6 cyl and was supprised how well it runs.
Originally posted by Nate S Hey, I'm nate- my dad and i are restoring a 1942 ford pickup...you can see pics/description in the "announcements" section...tell me what you think!
I could not find the pics. I also am about to start a 42. Mine is a one ton.
Word of advice - take many, many, many pictures as you're taking it apart. Get as many angles as you can. It helps a lot months and/or years from now when you begin putting it back together. I can't tell you how many times we've pulled out the photo album to see what went where.
Good luck, have fun and create a photo gallery so we can see too.
Almost forgot, here's a link to the thread NateS mentioned -
thanks im not sure whether ours is a 1/2 ton or 1 ton...a couple days ago we noticed it had 1 ton suspension parts on it, so i think it is a 1 ton...how do you differentiate btwn 1/2 ton and 1 ton?
I'm Don, my father and I just bought a 33 Ford Model BB, guess we'd be 3rd owner. Out of Southern Oregon.
Haven't had too much experience in rehabing older rigs, previously had 43 Ford Jeep, about all that was a 43 was the the tub, crossbread of sorts(350 Chev Engine, Mid 70's running gear)
This whole Flathead 6v thing is certainly all new.
Definitely interested in comparing notes with anyone else with a similar truck, sharing photos/ideas et cetera.
