I'm the AL in alittle40, and I do have a '40 Ford Pickup that is the process of rebuilding. I picked this one up in about a couple hundred boxes and have been putting it together for the last few years. My New Year's Resolution for 2004 is to put this truck together and have it painted and driving this year. Will update picture gallery as work progresses.
Carlene, your doing a great job on this site as usual.

Hi,
If you're parting the 1946 PU I may be interested in one special item. I do have a 1947 1/2 Ton at the final stage of restoration here in S. Paulo, Brazil.
I look for the sheet metal part that surrounds both the steering column and pedals (clutch & brake).
Antonio, if you need the sheet metal floor seals, and don't have any luck, I have two sets you can have reasonably. Probably should start a new thread on this if you are interested.
It's been a long time since I took mine off, but arent' those just flat peices of metal? If so it would probribly be very easy to make or have made locally with the demensions at hand.
I wouldn't say it is easy, but I did make my own. Used a different steering column setup so the originals wouldn't fit. Cut the seal out of sheet aluminum. Required about a day of on and off work.
Without a pattern, a person should rough one out of cardboard and then transfer to the metal. I used a saber saw combined with a hole saw, and finished with rotary grinder.

I was thinking of a friend of mine who owns a shop that has a plasma cutter that can cut patterns from drawings. I would take the deminsions of mine if they were at hand, but they are in storage somewhere far from where I am.

Who was in the USA? I'm currently in Phoenix, AZ...but I'll be moving back to where my trucks are in Orange County, Ca in the next month, month and a half. I will be tearing down a complete '46 that I used for the cab. I have most a whole truck that will be part out. Let me know if you need anything by emailing me directly. It would be about 2 months before I get back and am able to tear the truck down.
I am working on a 1938 one ton (as far as I know) . It runs and needs alot of body work. It used to be a service truck on Interstate 70 and was used everyday until the early 80's. My grandfather drove it the 80 miles home after he bought it at 70 mph. It has a 85 hp flathead. I look forward to getting help and maybee even helping you in time.
Hi my name is Bob (bubba22349) been into Fords most of my life bought first one at 14. I have one major rebuild project a 1941 Ford Sedan Delivery. Also have a 1956 F-350 Transporter, a 1958 Ranchero, and 1994 F-150. Bob
Hey ya'll. I'm Mountain and live in North Georgia. I'm working on a 1947 that was pretty much just a shell when I started. I had a '46 mounted on a '69 Bronco chasis back in the early to mid '80's and am in the process of replacing her utilizing the original frame, cab, front clip, and bed w/300/6, granny 4spd, and 4x4. Need original windshield/defroster frame, centerstrip (inside and out), headlight retaining rings, headlight trim rings, front turn signals, both windshield halves, both side glasses, and grill strips. She won't be a show truck, so the rough pieces you discarded might work for me. Good Luck on your projects.
