Sad to read this Jack... Out here they keep letting more and more folks out of prison - either covid, or over crowding - mostly the ones that weren't serious offenders, you know: like Meth heads, Thieves, those sort of criminals... One guy, they know who he is, regularly hits a local staging area for hikers, bikers and horse riders - he does the smash and grab. They arrest him put him jail and let him out, and repeat - if there's no consequence, why not...? Sally won't ride there as she doesn't want her new truck broken into, and isn't willing to resort to what others that stage there are doing: leaving all their windows down.
What is this world coming to...
Back to getting in the spirit: Merry Christmas to you and Les, and hoping for a Happier New Year too! (it just has to be better than this one...)

I am going to go ahead and put it out there, I'm sure some readers won't like it, o well. The gun laws here in Fla are more designed to protect one's self, family and property. There is the ****** and grab, as you described but not that much. They never know who'll pop up and have a concealed weapon(with permit) That never goes over good with a thief. And on top of that, most horse riders(probably 90% ) carry a weapon, for that and other reasons. So on the no consequences you need to look at your lawmakers. Crooks don't like it when the other side has weapons to. They prefer the soft target cities, and areas where only they have illegally obtained guns. Life's easier and safer for them.

That's why there's so much crime in Europe, we're not allowed to carry weapons- only the criminals can do that.

Trust me we know what the problem is - the only fix is to move! At least now that's the case, perhaps if enough of the elite leftist supporters and politicians start getting directly affected by what they are doing... Well, one can wish... Out here you better have a good story if they break into your home and you shoot them!
Florida has protection laws for people that stand there ground, and have legitimate reasons to use there weapon. Camera's, dogs and last resort a weapon. My area has a very low crime rate , neighbors take care and watch out. You add all that up, crime don't pay.
I came here tonight to wish, whoever wants to take it, a Merry Christmas.
Jack, that sucks and I think its horrible for you to experience that after your hard work. Whoever did it will get their's someday.
Ammo isn't to hard to find if you don't mind getting raped on the triple inflation in price. So you may consider reloading, right? Good luck even finding primers nevermind powder. Glad I already have my pile.
So I hope all had a Merry Christmas.
No snow this year, just a flashback from years past. I do miss Blue.
You still are part of the 6.0 clan - even though you went to the Dark Side... And I get that, and friends of mine that have also made a business decision - mostly based on purchase price and how long they plan to keep the truck... Merry Christmas, Pete, and if I couldn't have a Ford, I guess it would be a Dodge... GM needs to be bought by somebody, JMHO...
87. I had a good day. Now on to convo, I'm stocked.
On to where you will need depends on how close you are psycho zones. I will have to admit not to much worried about my area. If it goes bad it'll be over quickly. I hope alzhimer doesn't throw us under the bus. Can't afford to pay everybody else when we're hurting.
But am not going to elaborate, cause we can't. Ewww
And I hope you and yours had a good day. Merry Christmas.
Thanks Pete. Our snow just finally disappeared today.
I used to have game cameras up, I guess I’m getting more. It looks like with the WiFi ones I don’t have to keep climbing trees to get the memory cards.
Not sure how useful WiFi-connected security devices are. Everybody has a laptop and a free download gets it acting as a jammer. Admittedly, securing against opportunism is not the same as securing against planned crime, but the fewer emitters the better in my opinion.
I also have a large uninhabited property (by German standards) without Internet on which has been broken into several times. It is important that you get an alarm and you can connect to the camera. This is not possible without internet, that is my problem. We have laws in Germany that protect the burglars. If a burglar is seriously injured by a dog or other devices, the injured property owner is liable. On the costs the burglar has condemned, the injured party remains. We can only dream of weapons here.
