I bought a lot of my parts from the Old Car Center for this truck but for the panel I used Midfifty for some specific pieces and Horton hot rods . The free shipping was a big savings on this build..
Good afternoon folks, going to take in the race and head to the new place after it over.
I miss living on an acreage but the cost and upkeep are to much for me, living in a duplex was a new experience and one that I wouldn't recommend.
Finding part for the 48 truck might be hard, so far I know that I'll be looking for most and maybe all of the glass, may look for a parts truck that has good glass to cover that.
I wish Mid Fifties had free shipping.
Living in a duplex is something that I would never ever attempt.
They have fairly good shipping rates on all the small stuff that doesn't need to be shipped freight as along as you live in the States. A lot of the guys in Dryden have things shipped to the border and cross over to pick it up. It's only a 2 hour drive for them but for me it's a 4 hour trip one way..
If you have any glass in the truck it could be used for a pattern..you could even cut some yourself if you had some access to glass from another vehicle providing it is large enough and flat. Usually the back and side glass is tempered but the windshield needs to be laminated ..
As kid we lived in an apartment in Brandon for a year and it was like living in a chicken coop, lived in a condo about 30 years ago in Winnipeg but I was working out of an office and wasn't expecting to live in Winnipeg for more than a couple of years. This new place is big enough for what I do without the expense or constant yard maintenance.
Figured that seeing as I'm no longer paying $3.50 a load to do laundry that I would get that ready for when I go over, I've got a schit load of clothes.
