Took the truck out for a spin, this AOD trimmed off nearly 1100 rpm at 100 KPH

I learned a long time ago that automatics can get expensive John but what isn`t these days. It was another hot one here today which makes for a nice evenings to cruise with my motorcycle. What`s the rpm now with the AOD?
Dry rotted casings is the main reason I went away from buying retreads for my gravel truck Perry. A lot of the time my trade ins didn`t pass so I was paying close to new tire price anyways.
I too hate staining Grant but like you I really like the look of natural wood.

That should make for good fuel economy John.

I need to find someone with a good supply of used 16.5s as they are getting rare and for the mileage that I drive, really expensive. New 16.5s are running $225 to 275 each x 6. If this was a true work truck it wouldn't be so bad but it sees maybe 2500 unpaid miles per year.

Happy Saturday Mornin'all. It's been stupid humid this week. I guess being inside staining, isn't so bad. Glad everything worked out with the tranny John. Perry: try calling some of the rural tire shop's, they're more likly to have what you need. Have a great day guy's.

I'm still not sure about this transmission at the moment, truck seems like it's pull a semi at the start up...

It is a very happy Saturday Grant, so far today it`s very cloudy which is a real nice change from the high humidity along with the brutal sun beating down on us.
16.5'' tires are pretty well antique stuff, I would switch to 16'' rims Perry.
I`m not sure what you mean by truck seems like it's pull a semi at the start up John? Is it slow and labours hard?

I just took it out for another spin, what seems to be happening is when you come off the highway and come to a stop it's not shifting into 1rst gear and the lugging or slipping effect is because I'm starting off in second, if I manually shift it into first gear there is no problem..

This truck runs the Budd cup and cone rim and the 16 inch rims don't center up properly. There are 1 piece rims available in 16.5 so I'll go that way with this truck. My other 78 got a F450 rear with 19.5 wheels in back and it has a 89 frame that runs 16 wheels

What a wonderful and boring day

Followed the neighbor down to the bike mechanic to get his out of province on his C90, got the mechanic to rev it up to about 12-1500 rpm so that he could here the noisy valve train and let James know that the bike seller was lying when he said the valve noise was normal. We also let him know that they are adjustable which the seller claims they're not. James has known the seller for years and still trusts him even though he knows very little about bike mechanics and never uses a manual, I doubt if this bike will last very long.

It looks like I might have 2 sources for tires and rims, will get them changed over the next time that I bring furniture to my brother.

Went to the mall to scope out the scenery but it was bring your cow to town day so I wound up going shopping instead, got some really tacky tourists shirts that should make a lot of people cringe.

Tomorrow is a paperwork and prep for legal action day, going to spend most of the week doing social politics and getting this move straightened out. The house still isn't finished inside and hasn't had its final inspection or occupancy permit.

It`s a bummer that you can`t easily switch away from 16.5`s.

I was told I might have it set on the high side of the pressures so will try knocking it back a bit, just not down shifting into first..
