No plans today, just gonna get a few things done around the house, and wish hateful things to happen to Crutchfield. I was told 3 to 5 business day's for my refund, and today is day 7, so I'm not vary pleasant to be around. Good for Tim to be at work, and Shari in Minnesota until Friday evening. Hopefully I'll be in a better mood by then.
James, your excursion is it a 5.4 or the V10? Dad found a 2000 model 4x4 he is trying to convince Ma that he really needs. He was asking me what kind of fuel mileage to expect

I find fuelly gives a pretty accurate estimation of gas mileage. heres' there excursion page. You can drill down by engine if you want to get more accurate.
I've got the 6.8l V-10 gasser. I've had it ten years. Currently has 186k miles. Had 35k when I bought it. Engine and transmission are stock with normal maintainence. 4x4 with 3.73 gears.
I routinely get 11-12mpg no matter what. Towing, empty, full of people doesn't matter. If I get heavy footed around town I see down to 10mpg. Most I've ever got was 14mpg, all highway for ten hours.
The 2wd 5.4l doesn't do much better. I had one of those and still got between 10 and 12 mpg.
It's a lot of weight to move.
The early model 7.3 powerstrokes get 14-16. Slightly more highway.
The later model 6leakers get about the same but come with known issues.
Hope that helps. They're are awesome vehicles with a few known issues. I can't imagine parting with mine.
I've finally gotten Shari's Escape inspected, tires rotated, and oil change.
We have a date set for my buddy back home that owns a moving company to be here and load the truck (June 30th) and I have a 26' UHaul reserved (more truck than we need). Now to get Ka'Bluey's ride finalized and a house ready to go in Southern Missouri.

Well I didn't get the truck or the Escape washed today. But Shari and I did spend the day in the back yard, after she got a few things packed up, or rather, after she re-packed a couple of box's that I packed.
Then into the back yard and then broke down our 10' Spiral Tree.
Crutchfield finally got my refund in the bank, and I spent it on a new set up. That didn't take long.
So I set out this morning 2.5 hours to go look at a 98 F150, it was supposed to be in great running condition and the pics looked good. When he showed up it was smoking and running on maybe 4 cylinders. Not to mention it was ****ing beat, apparently the pics were from when he bought it.
So we turned around and rode another 2.5 hours in another direction to get check out a 2001 Supercrew. I ended up coming home with it.
This one is a 5.4, the truck is high mileage, but has a engine with under a 100k. It's also got a fairly new set of 17" wheels. It needs a few things but other than a little rust under the passenger doors is in 100× better condition than that 98.
Thanks Bob, this one has higher miles, but the 5.4 was swapped about 90k miles ago. It has headers and true duals all the way out, and 45s out behind the rear tires. It's got a very nice rumble!
I bet it does sound nice. And that at 5.4 Triton is a great engine. A buddy of mine back home finally retired his 99 with that same engine. He hit 340K and it had never been apart.
