Hopefully this adapter for the truck stereo shows up today. Then I can get the Sync working right, everything set, and the dash put back together.
I have an #8 Brisket to prep later today so it can go in the smoker for a half a day tomorrow.
Sunny and in the 60's today and tomorrow. Hope y'all get to enjoy it a bit.

No good on that adapter working for me.
Had another talk with Crutchfield. They're sending me a box, I'm shipping the entire mess back to them. They can have it, and in good riddance.

And a direct hit.
High Output did the remote starter in Shari's Escape.
And I'm gonna go see them later this week..
I have a Brisket prepped already, and going in the smoker tomorrow. And then Thursday, I'll be checking to see who gives me the best deal. I may not even fool with the Sync stuff on the next stereo. That's where all of the troubles were pointing too this time around. Just a new stereo, and wiring direct to the factory wiring, and I would like to keep the steering wheel controls.

Thanks buddy

Charcoal is heating up, and I have a nice little stack of Hickory ready for that brisket that's about ready to go into the smoker for a few hours.
Then, take that fancy stereo out of the truck, put the factory stuff back in, and then hurry up and wait for my money to be deposited so I can start over...

Not so much..

I babysat the smoker today, and was rewarded vary well. Brisket came out really nice.
New stereo crud is out of the truck, and the stock stuff that I can't stand (Though it does work) is back in. May head out tomorrow and check out some audio stores.

Doesn't look too bad huh

Idiots had 3 express lanes open, and 1......regular lane for idiots like me, that were spending a couple hundred bucks.
I had reduced myself to doing the same thing that had almost gotten me banned from Lowes stores. (True, story). I stood under the camera giving it "The Bird", but unlike Lowes, nobody came to me, nobody cared.
I found a guy "Chandler" wearing his little yellow vest, and let him have it. Both barrels, no chokes.
By the time i had gotten checked out, there were 4, more cashiers going to town.
I'm really surprised I didn't the local fuzz called on me today.

The first guy I let have it, said to find somebody in a "Yellow Vest", so he got the rest of what I could come up with.

Good wet morning everybody.
After waiting for 2 day's for Crutchfield to send a box for all of this stuff that's going back, I called again. And they said that they're only supplying the "Free" shipping label.
So today I'm getting it all packed up, and it's off for Virginia. I'm hoping that my money shows up in our bank today so I can get the new stuff bought, and have it next week. And with any luck, I'm finished with this stuff for a long time.

It was also cold!
Up and back to Belews Creek I ran into hail & snow.
Then the cold really hit when off loading the truck in Apex for hour+

Hope you get the radio thing worked out. I think that is why I have not looked into my 02 Dodge radio issues, 1 channel cuts in and out and it is no way tied into everything like the new stuff is.

The most I've ever dug into a radio instal is in my 97, I installed a $75 pioneer radio from Walmart. I also have 2 scratch and dent pioneer speakers in the door. Guys I went to school with have several thousand in their stereos to make it annoying as **** (my opinion of course)

Thanks Dave. I'm ready to be finished with fooling with this. I have the next set up picked out. Now just waiting for Crutchfield to my my money back into the bank. They, along with anybody else can get the money in seconds, but it takes day's to put it back.

I wish it were that easy in a newer vehicle. With stereo, and climate controls made into the same panel now, it takes a faceplate that alone cost $200 and $300. And then the stereo's are that and higher. Then, there are wire harnesses, and adapters to keep things like Sync, steering wheel controls etc.
It's crazy how much people will put into a car stereo.

Bob,
That was one of the nice things about buying a new truck. I was able to decide what stereo\head unit I wanted. However, more important to me, was having a truly un-molested truck for once in my life.

Now how does Shari like that remote start? Which system did you end up going with. I've been thinking about getting Mary one, might do it for Valentines Day, but I avoid aftermarket goodies like that for myself like the plague, so I know very little about it all.
