Strange. It works for me, and on pages that I've not been to in quite some time. And, the search function also works, and on searches I have not done before. So I don't think it is pulling from the cache.
Sorry, Gary. Multiple messages coming in. Thanks for your hard work on this! Much appreciated!
I am suffering a bit from some brain issues. I am actually disabled due to a multitude of physical factors that precipitates some serious memory loss, ability to concentrate, etc. You think it's been a nightmare, talk with my wife! lol
She's caught between empathy and frustration 24/7.
Anyway, you've been a real champ as well as Vincent, ctubutis and some others over the years. Thanks for all of your help. The ECM is ordered from RockAuto and when it gets here, I hope the problem is solved.
Steve
So, when you pull your replacement computer out of your truck, take a photo of the numbers on it. I would say since you said your replacement computer never put out any codes, it was not the right computer for your truck.
Also, when you replace your fuel regulator be sure the passage back to the tank is not blocked (put a hose in the return hole and blow).
It works for me, it's possible your ISP's network is having problems getting to the network that hosts Gary's site or to some network-provided service (e.g. DNS). Try again later....
Unfortunately, I cannot use the test connector to run the pumps. When I connect the jumper wire, I get nothing. You may recall I get no readings at all when I connect my code reader to the connectors. I have not figured out why and at this point, feel at a loss to do so. I am considering purchasing a new harness such as the Painless Performance 60511 but am not it is the correct harness.
Putting in a Painless harness would be anything but painless!
And completely unnecessary.
There is a clue here in that you cannot read codes or test the fuel pump relay. You may be having an ECM power failure. Test your ECM power relay.
If he is saying he can not run the fuel pumps by shorting pin #2 to pin #6 of the self-test connector and turning the key to the run position but they will run if he grounds pin #6 to the NEG post of the battery and turning the key to the run position then I would say he has a bad computer ground with the small wire at the NEG post of the battery.
If he replaced the NEG battery cable this could be why the pumps will not run.
