My carb had Holley on the float bowl and it was obvious that it was a Holley ND, the parts guy took the #s off the id tab and somehow managed to order the Carter 1 bbl kit. Reading, writing and arithmetic are low priorities in this provinces educational system, being a moron makes you intelligent up here. We have a politically correct expression up here " can't find qualified help ", really means, don't hire Calgarians as they're brain dead morons, hire the outsider instead. I'll take the Mexican guy's advice and either upgrade the motor in the future or get my brother to detune a 4150.

So is my 2bbl motorcraft correct for my truck or would it have been something different from the factory?

No Holley ever came with a 1 bbl Carter

Auto-Lite: 1962/72; Motorcraft: 1973 thru today.

In 1972, the US Gov't forced FoMoCo to sell Auto-Lite, because the gov't claimed that FoMoCo had a monopoly on auto parts.

The FoMoCo lawyers argument that GM had bought Delco in the 19 teens, fell on deaf ears, so FoMoCo had no other choice but to divest themselves of Auto-Lite.

It'll fit but it wont cancel the turn signals on earlier (77?) trucks.

But there is a mod for that...... drilling the back and inserting two roll pins. I forget who it was but the FTEer did a short write up either in here (Dent) or the Bump forum.... PapaBearYuma???

IMO, the best Autolite commercial was those guys dressed up like spark plugs singing "I got you (I feel good)" by James Brown.

This ID number prefix is probably D7OW .. Actual part number prefix: D7OZ

The wrong Fairmont/Zephyr/Mustang/Capri prefix is: D8BZ

His phone is busy. Always busy.

In less fun news, I have what I am hoping is a rear oil pan leak. I replaced the tear main seal several weeks ago and everything was simple. Now, its dripping, which freaks me out. I am planning to unbolt the pan and spray the pan gasket with brake cleaner, add rtv to the pan and bolt it back up.

Very unmotivated at this point.
