General Discussion Thread
Bronco meet Bully, ha is that an Army bed? So what does a dent side taste like? Is that early Bronco parts in a dent side bed?
We need to keep this thread active.
It sucks, man.
The memories of driving around with your daughter in an '03 will not be the same. My daughter learned to drive in my '79 4x4.
Next tax return, I plan to get back to the pre 80's as a second truck. I will have to be 4x4, have to have power steering, power brakes, and automatic. Ideally '78/'79 would be my first choice just because of the running gear but since I was born in 1972, that would be cool to roll in too.
I understand the reason you got the '03 though.
Memorial Day.. a day to respectfully remember and miss even more, my friends like Scott Rose and the rest of the crew on Blackhawk tail #92-26431. They all paid the ultimate sacrifice on 7 Nov 2003.

And to all my fallen brothers and sisters, bless you all.
Also have a bunch of old tractors and engines stashed around the farm.

I have come to hate sellers.
I hate any ad saying "Rare". Rare to me means that they didnt make many for a reason, or that there arent many left because they all broke. Your shortbed is not rare because you dont have any others in your little town. Rare means that parts are nonexistant. Rare means they tacked on several more $$ based on sentimentality.
Rust free- stop! The pics clearly show rust!! Unless it is a frame off, it has rust.
Restoration- If it isn't "restored", that means to it's original condition, then it isn't. You can't add a lift and offroad seats and call it restored. You can't get to restored without spending all the money, you just can't. Restored is an expensive and earned word, stop using it.
Stepside- If you are trying to sell your flareside, stop looking ignorant and act like you know what it is, it is a flareside.
Highboy- I hate this whole thing. I hate that people somehow feel superior over a slang term that workers in a factory making $5/hour said to each other. And that it completely stopped in '77.5, never to be uttered again until it rebirthed and coveted 30 years later.
But yeah, it drives me nuts when it is used on a f150 or a '78/''79, etc.
Engine pics- You say your engine is rebuilt? Then where are the pictures?! Aaargh!! Adding an air filter is not rebuilt. Changing the carb, is not rebuilt. Adding a Holly double pumper to a fe 360 is not rebuilt. Rattle canning your engine, I can see the overspray on the hoses, is not rebuilt!!
Smog legal- Anything 1976 and newer, here in California, needs to have Ca emissions equipment. It sucks but your out-of-state plates are a dead giveaway that it will not pass. If you spent $20k on your frameoff 2wd and deleted the emissions equipment, your truck is a $20k paperweight. Sell it out of state. Anything '76 or newer that has no visible smog equipment is worthless.
Ran when parked- lol, ok. The titanic ran when parked too.
Covering up your tags with your friggin finger- Really?! So the hundreds of people that see your truck everyday can do what? Steal it? Geezus. Let people run the tags through the local Inspection website and see the results history. Do you really want to have to deal with it through email? Find a buyer that wants your truck without having to hustle.
Vin- It has a spot fot it, type it in. Again, let people do a bit of leg work. Here in Ca, if any vehicle is not reregistered or Non opped for 2 years, it is about $1100 in back fees.
Out of DMV so no back fees- Here in Ca, there is no "Out of DMV", I don't know about anywhere else.

and another thing to add about craigslist
barn find- just because you took your truck to a car wash then put it in a barn doesnt mean it is a barn find
true surrviver- just because your truck has little rust doesnt mean it is a surrviver
