Here's a small update. I pulled the wiring harnesses out of the blue truck and the green truck to clean up the all the PO's hacks. Both harnesses had 45 years of dust and dirt on them so removed 5 lbs. of tape then half filled a 5 gal. bucket with one part Simple Green and 2 parts water and let them soak. After rinsing them off and letting them dry I put them in a desiccator to make sure every bit of moisture was removed from the harness.
I had to hack off the '70 instrument cluster connector, extend the wires and solder on the mating connector for the F600 cluster.
This is the new harness for the tail lights and trailer connector. I got it spliced together and installed in the truck.
I ran into a snag trying to swap out the old amp meter with a volt meter on the F600 clusters. The needle hub hits the bezel so I had to push the volt meter back. I needed to obround recess in the back panel to be round so the gauge will be pushed back away from the bezel.
I used a washer and piece of round stock to make the round recess in the back panel.
It fits! Now I just need some plastic shoulder washers or I'm going to see a lot of sparks.
Painted the hub black, I think it looks better than the white hub.
I'm thinking that Jeff-Row is right, its a shame to cover up those brackets. If you show your truck, you will have to mount a full length mirror under that bumper.. Most people have never seen anything like that. Other than Trozi's valve cover, not much is in that class..
Do you have a milling machine? That is a way clean design. Kudos again amigo..
Baja
Thanks! I have a little mill that I got back when I was machining a lot of prototype and pre-production parts.

It's a chamber you can hook to a vacuum pump to remove water but you can also use it with a chemical desiccant as a dryer. I just use a vacuum pump.

The insulation is in really good shape for it's age. I was surprised at just how flexible it is. Thanks for the complement.

Thanks King Jeff! It was a royal PITA to keep a wet edge on all the bars and plates, so the gloss black paint doesn't look that great.

The paint didn't turn out that great but it was a beautiful evening, a slight breeze, low 80s and not much humidity.
