I've been interested in this also, without much luck. There is a 255/80R17 that both BFG and Cooper make. But they only offer it in their most aggressive mud terrain patterns. Not really what I'm after, would like more of and AT pattern.
Zoodads tires are a bit taller than I want, and they are only D rated. Not being E rated takes them off the list for me. To each his own.
I'm highly considering American Force 19.5's and the Toyo M920s all around, or M920 up front and M608Z on the back. I know Lawrence is running the M608Z up front but I'm kind of leery to run something that aggressive up front.
Thanks everyone for your insights. I am also considering going to the 19.5's. I will consult with my local tire/wheel guy that I trust (been doing business with him for 25 plus years).
I have another question, guys using air helper bags, do they mount on top of leaf pack, or on top of axle ? Specifically for my 450
I think they make both. But I don't have a 450. I think when I looked into them for my 350 both types are available. One mounts to the outside of the frame rail (on top of spring pack) and the other on the inside (on top of the axle). I think it depends on if you have a gooseneck/fifth wheel hitch.
Not sure of your year but here's one that mounts on the inside and I selected towing a 5th wheel in the options.
Even with that 3m wrap stones are chipping my paint on front of rear fenders. Less than 1500km and never driven over 70km/h on gravel. So I'm thinking of getting spray on bed liner stuff applied to this area. Thoughts?
Ferguson, why not a 20inch dually wheel, AF and Eagle wheels both have a 20inch wheel. I would love the Eagle series 058 20x9 with Cooper Discoverer AT3 275 65 20.
