You guys keep giving me new ways to spend my money on gauges - I'm actually liking that Woodward series set, with the beige face. Very nice and classy.
That'd be the case if I had the money to spend. For now it's just desires. If I hit the lottery I'll just build a truck to showcase every style of gauges I like-

I hear ya, I'd love to have a set of those puppies, but it's not gonna happen.
[QUOTE=Tomahawk;14974992]So it's last Friday, I'm on the couch feeling like crap because of a nasty cold. I have the wife's tablet and I start looking at Trozei's '69 F100 Build thread. Wow, I am really impressed with this guys talent at such a young age. His thread is really cool......then I see it.......post 124......this pic.
*sound of angles singing*
I'm such a n00b, I've never seen one of these F500+ dash clusters and I want one NOW......and it must be black and chrome!
I get off the couch, hobble to the shop to search the interweb for one of these beauties.....I need my big monitors, a 7" tablet just won't do for power shopping.
As I was heading out to the shop I'm thinking that one of these dash clusters is an aftermarket part....maybe? Someone prolly still makes them?
First I go to Dennis Carpenter......no luck, then LMC....nothing, NPD nada. Now I am ready to panic....oh crap, I have to get a used one from ebay. I look on ebay and at the time there was nothing but rusty crap and some that were painted...rats! So I googled instrument panel, dash cluster, blah, blah and found one in Iowa at a scrap yard. Yea!
5 days and 160 bucks (including shipping) later.....
....it was here when I got home from work. w00t!
Like the idea of the f600 truck cluster for my 71 f100 (and I know I will have to splice in a 1969 harness), but I found this unit on-line for $150.
Is that a reasonable price?
That's what I paid for mine in about the same condition. You prolly have a little more rust at the tops of the gauges.
EDIT: I just noticed it has the vacuum gauge and tach.... I'd go for it! Sorry, was looking at it on my phone.

Best I remember, from the big truck clusters I've pulled, the tach is driven off the distributor by a cable. Probably not going to do you much good unless you have a cable drive attachment on your distributor or, unless there is some gauge refurbishing company that can convert the mechanical drive tach to electric.
That is one concern is usefulness of the gauges. I like the design. I am guessing the fuel, radiator, speedo gauges would work. As I think my steering column has a 69 style wiring, I may be converting my 71 to a 68/69 under the dash (:
would hate to "blow off" another chunk of money/credit. Lord knows I have done it a few times.
Tried to get either of them to cut the connectors for the clusters, but none of them fell for it. They offered me the wiring harness for $300.
The white faced clusters can fairly often be found in overall good condition but, the chrome/black faced clusters are difficult to find, that don't have surface rust on them.
The main harness connector/pigtail to the cluster doesn't have to come from a big F-series truck. It can be obtained from any wrecking yard '67-'69 F100- F350 truck to connect to the big truck instrument cluster.
One thing if you have not thought about it you will.
If going with an larger F series truck cluster the odometer can be re-clocked to match your now mileage.
And if a person wants to keep the correct vehicle miles as is now on your old cluster.
