I see what you are looking for.

The glowshift gauges are back lit with LED. . When I try to dim my cluster, I have issues...I will have to check again, but I think the Glowshift gauges dimmed a bit., the Autometer back lights dim at a different level. i am looking to upgrade the Autometer to LED.

Kind of low on the priority list right now.

Right now it shifts about 5,800 but I'm going to bump it up to 6,000-6,200.
I have a Strange carrier in the garage that I'm going to set up with 3.70ish gears for a strip gearset, so I'll probably experiment with shift RPMs. It's incredibly mild and streetable like it is.
I could probably turn some decent street truck times in the 1/4 with a 3,000-3,200 stall converter.

I'm just wondering why you chose a 10,000rpm tachometer over an 8,000rpm equivalent.

Because it is a Ford tach and my family has worked for Ford in some extent since the 1940's and I got and incredible deal on the tach. Plus it's cool

Plus, you can't predict the future. I have two more standard bore big blocks in my storage. An FE and a 385. My uncle shifted his manual trans tunnel port at a little over 8,000.

A light bulb that burns twice as bright burns out twice as quick --I just thought I'd throw that out there.

Twice as quick or not, it still lasts a long time.

Ok, let me correct myself. After looking up the two incandescent bulbs' actual life expectancy, it turns out the 2x power 1895 bulb doesn't burn out twice as quick.

It burns out FIVE times as quick as the 1445 bulb. 1445 is rated for 10,000 hours service life. The 1895 bulb is rated for 2, 000.

2000 hours is a good span of time but, I didn't realize it burned out 5 times faster than the 1445 bulb.

By comparison, the average LED has a service life of 30,000 hours. --3x longer than a 1445 bulb and 15x longer than an 1895.

No kiddin? I am surprised. It's been decades since I've seen a 1895 but the way I remember them they have a LOT bigger glass ball than a 1445. Assuming more glass means more swept area to dissipate the heat generated. To last longer. You comparing a China 1895 to a GE 1445?
