Thanks guys. Originally yesterday I was thinking of the stuff I use when I build Home Stereo speakers. Covering the cabinet. Laying it in the Sun's rays will soften it up to ease installation. But Just now I thought of something maybe better. I don't know if Canada has "Wrap" companies yet. Here in Phoenix there are companies that computer generate Signs,Graphics, etc that "wrap" on and around vehicles. Rather than painting a company logo or graphics of all sorts on a vehicle these "wraps" are installed. Can be removed later when vehicle gets sold. These prolly can be made to the color of choice AND already have the correct dimensions for O.D. and around the gauges. Frickin' Cool, huh! Plus since their material is made to withstand direct sunlight on the vehicle's paint I know it can withstand interior temps.
another option is spray can Plasti dip , you can spray it on and then peel off later . no sanding the chrome , just give it a good clean with rubbing alcohol

Yes we have wrap companies. The digital printing store I referred to offers that service.
But no, plastidip will never come near anything I own.
Well there ya go Tro! Have a few extra made and sell 'em here on the market place or EvilBay. You don't even have to pay me a royalty.
All kidding aside, you can help out some fellow Bumpsters and make some Moola towards your build.
Not a bad idea on making acouple extra maybe it will bring down the price some on your's and sell the rest and help out some fellow bumpsider's. If it turns out good I might be interested in one.

Jeff if your thinking of the same poly file stuff is the same graphics stuff that's used on the mustang body racing stripes .
That's what was done to a vet friend in Florida a few yrs back when he bought a new Mustang, and wanted the wide white racing strips front to back about 12"wide.
I've talked to a guy who dose this he prints & cuts setup ups all types of custom graphics for autos & business windows. He says when put on right it's good for about 7 yrs before sun damage happens to it..
There's no point in me even trying to make money off of this. All anyone needs to do is take a black sheet of vinyl and then cut out the shape. Super easy and super cheap to have done locally.
I just sent in my order. I tried to stay true to the original style gauges.
7 gauges.
4" speedo in the centre
3 3/8" tach on the far right
3 3/8" vac on the far left
2 1/16" -fuel, volts, temp, and oil pressure in between.
I added the "MERCURY" logo to just the speedo.
The pictures show the day/night image, and my cluster that they will be going into.
Sweet! When will they arrive? I'm waiting until after my engine costs are accounted for before I buy gauges. I'm not short on cash but I don't want to shoot myself in the foot.
Hope you ordered the GPS Antenna for the speedometer.
I like the clean setup, but one antenna setup cable was like 15 ft. long to place around the vehicle was like $150 the web site, Not having to mess with a sender of the tranny or transfer case. I was looking at a few meters a weeks ago.

Not sure when they will arrive. Their website said it could take up to 4 weeks to process my order, then they would ship it. That's ok, I'm not in a hurry...yet. Oh, and I shot myself in the foot a couple weeks ago (as far as budget goes) with this "quick engine clean-up".
Hope you ordered the GPS Antenna for the speedometer.
