Interesting details have finally surfaced.

I started really looking close at the heads tonight and I've found that some of the valve springs are holding very low seat pressures. Like only 20-30 pounds. So that could definitely be a problem.
So I'm gonna buy some mild performance springs from comp.

Buy some from your cam's brand. I don't remember who it is now. Or shim the ones you got.

I've was running a sealed power cam, lifters and springs. But I want to put my summit cam back in. So upgrading springs would be a good idea anyway. And really these are only 50lbs heavier closed.

Don't forget to set the spring height or you will be back with it on the stand.

It was my screw up. It's really weird cuz I tested all the spring pressures when I put them in 8 months ago. They were new springs and they were holding new pressures.

Ouch a long hard lesson to learn Well at least you'll know not to make that type of mistake again.

Well We've all made dumb mistakes building motors and forgetting a little 25cents bolt/washer or spring that was really needed inside the engine.

Well now it's the old double check trick. It works best when you sleep good and have those bad dreams that you over looked something and do you recheck the next day..

Wonder if the heights were not right and caused bind which could have stressed the springs out.

It seemed, to me, that the old guys couldn't troubleshoot the problem from their couch. Yeah, I'm an old guy too.
