I don't know what's wrong anymore. My engine is still Misfiring. Cylinder 7 is still the trouble maker. And a couple others might be weak. I've done everything I know how to do to diagnose and fix it.
So if any of you guys in the greater Phoenix area (south east valley would be great!) would be willing to help me out in getting my engine tuned up and running right, or know a shop or guy that knows the older engines I'm all ears. And if I could find someone that knows the 351C specially, well, that would be all too lucky.
Haven't done compression check yet since rebuild. Was waiting for rings to seat well. close to 800 miles on it now.
The catch is, it was doing the same exact things BEFORE I rebuilt it. Thus why I started rebuilding it. Eliminating possibles.
It has been rebuilt in stages. Fixing a few things at a time. This last time I had it out I had it bored out and I installed new pistons and moly rings. The old ones were worn out.
Did you by any chance put a 4bbl intake on two bbl heads, the intake ports are huge, and the head ports are a lot smaller, #7 may not be sealing like it should, sucking air there instead of through the intake.
Yea as far as I can tell. I don't have any electrical problems anywhere on the truck.
One thing that has kinda concerned me is that the #7 plug wire won't zap me, but it still throws a spark through the plug. weak compared to the others though. Maybe not strong enough to light the fuel charge. I've switched plugs and wires around. Didn't make a difference.
I've checked the cap and rotor, all looks fine and the cap is in the right position.
It sounds like to me something is grounding out to number seven causing these problems. Do you have a ground wire attached to the exaughst manifold near number seven
No no wires on engine besides coil power tachometer and coolant sender and the alternator wires. Also the ground strap hooked to the bellhousing to body.
