my old 2004 i added X codes to it without changing anything else. stock shocks went back on and everything without issue. hell i know the new owners and they have not done anything different since buying it from me in 2010...except put 32k miles on it.
Well I still didnt get my shock question answered yet. My rancho 9000's are about 2 inches too short to fit in the mounting holes. Can I use a f350 shock or do I have to buy shocks for lifted trucks?
OEM 4x4 Excursion shocks would be serviceable with a V code upgrade, although it is recommended you replace them with a set of shocks made for a 4x4 F250. With X codes, you will definitely need to replace the Excursion front shocks.
Get a cheap set of OEM replacements for a 4x4 F250 from your local auto parts store to get you back on the road. Then get a good set of front shocks for your rig, if you aren't happy with the cheapies you had to put on there.

15 31 1/4 7 took some mesurments for you, I measured from where the axle tube slides into the pumpkin to the back side of the bolt on the track bar, and it was 15. The mount on the frame was 31 1/4 to center to bolt from opposite passenger side frame. 2 1/2 inch space between the leaf and bump stop. This is with v springs with a v10
