Congratulations Rick on the new truck. Nice clean vehicle. Hopefully you will have many miles of trouble free service.

In 07 I passed on buying a new LBZ b/c I'm an idiot and thought a half ton would be good enough for me.

Biggest truck purchase mistake ever. I didn't even realize what I was passing at the time. Had I known about the changes in emissions systems back then, I'd still be in an LBZ. The longterm reliability of these new emissions systems is still unknown, but we do know they will be more expensive to repair than the LBZ.

Duane

I looked at that EGR mod yesterday...I will likely do that soon...I am also considering a Edge Insight CTS with their Back Up Camera...Running Boards...Rhino Liner...???? does it ever end . It is so nice to go out to my truck and not worry if the POS will start...or keep running...

I have not yet registered for the Homecoming Rally in Goshen...but I see Jim still has 46 spots. Being between jobs until last Thursday, I had no way of knowing where I might be at Rally time. I start with a new company tomorrow. While they are based out of Northern Virginia, they work in 8 or 9 States...Ohio and Indiana are in that group. I will be at Goshen for at least a few days if at all possible. I will likely find out tomorrow where they will be sending me first

Regards

Seems like every few weeks or once a month we get a post like this. New poster, same story. I never seem to read the final entry from these threads. "I got my truck back and my auto insurance paid for this" or "I had to write a huge check today to get my truck back". Maybe I just lose interest in these threads before they end.

This is the last thread that I remember that is like this one. Last time rk3838 connected was: Last Activity: 03-01-2013 01:00 PM

If this was a real thread, I wish they would return when they get their trucks back to provide "the rest of the story".

I'm not a GM fan but the LBZ is the way to go if you go used with GM.
While a bit more modern, they hold their value like the older 7.3's do on the Ford side.

Well, the pain of paying the bill. $9609.27 later, the dealer that fixed my truck still cannot figure out how the original dealer found contamination. I actually had 3/4 tank of fuel still in my truck from the morning that my truck stopped. I burned that out over the weekend, no pings or rattles. How do I posts pictures of my receipts, I want to make sure to put the first dealers receipt on here so everybody knows where not to go in the same situation. Got to give credit where it's due

If you shelled the HPFP, it contaminated your fuel tank. please post the receipt.

I find it inconceivable that if your fuel system had been repaired that ANY dealership would have LET you drive off with the very fuel that they say contaminated the fuel system. They would have drained the tanks. They always do (and charge you for it).

I'm sorry, but these posts don't add up.

Yup I agree Savage, What a HUGE risk the repairing dealer would take if they let it go with contaminated fuel. If thats the case you will have another failure soon.

Maybe the HPFP just died like the 6.4 ones and the fuel system isn't contaminated.
I know on the 6.4 it was a wire problem, that is obviously totally different on the 6.7, but what I mean, is maybe something was wrong with the pump, but it didn't actually "grenade" from water as previously thought.

How do I post pictures, ill show the receipt? Remember the first dealer said I put gas in my truck and I clearly had all my receipts to show them otherwise. The independent test and the second dealer could not find any contamination anywhere but both told me the hpfp was shot and everything from the pump to the injectors had to be replaced. If they drained the fuel and put 3/4 tank back in they did not charge me for it.
