Hi all,

Just a little something to add about the filter comparisons.

The Tymar is based on the big Donaldson filter. As was pointed out, Wix also makes an equivalent, though I'm not sure if it is made with the same paper media.

From what I know, the Tymar was created with the best filter that filters the best and flows the best. As was brought out by several others, the AFE has let dirt in, and the K&N is also known for this. It doesn't always happen, but it does. I haven't heard this happening from any Tymar owners. To my knowledge, Tymar and Donaldson have no ties. That may have changed now since the Donaldson has been found to work the best, but I know at the beginning there was not.

The Tymar was created by someone who wanted something better and is used in their own truck. Can't ask for better product assurance than that.

I had a K&N in my stock filter housing. It seemed to do fine, but I changed it out for a Fleetguard stock filter and I haven't noticed a performance decrease at all. I've checked my intake hose and all seems to be well. In a few months, I'll be getting a Tymar. I like the fact you can just throw away the filter and replace it. No worries about over/under oiling and the possibility of pin holes developing (like the K&N).

Anyway, just thought I would add to the discussion.

I have a homemade "Tymar" style intake on my truck , and i am having the same weird shift deal going into 4th. This was also present when i had the old AFE intake on the truck as well.

Not sure , I have learned to live with it............

I am having trouble finding ordering information, pictures and priceing on these intake systems.. Everyone just raves about them but it seems hard to find a place to get any information

I went to there web page and it said it was under construction. Well if they want to sell some of there products they better get on the ball with the web site.

Can anyone give me any links.

God Bless our troops

You can go ahead and email him at that address that appears on the under construction page.

He has always been real good about returning my emails, despite being real busy.

Just installed the Tymar Air Intake System this past weekend. Shortly thereafter I started having the follwing problems:
1) ABS Light stays on.
2) Service Eng Soon Light stays on
3) Next day, the Overdrive Off Light flickers on & off constantly.
4) Odometer needle flutters ,,, and drops to zero when i let off the gas (even if costing 20+ mph.
Could I have bumped something at install time?
Could the on board computer be going crazy since I disconnected the drivers side battery only ........ should i diconnect both batteries and see if the computer resets?
Any help is appreciated.

does anybody have the tymar comercial setup? Just curious. It looks like it sits in place a little better and is easier to change the filter. It also incorporates the stock filter minder. Any comments about this one?

The AIS is a ford airbox replacement for the POS stock one.

Get the tymar, i installed mine 2 hours ago and I can't follow the language guidelines.. Stomp it and hear that turbo scream. Feels like alot more than 7hp.

I purchased one and installed it in about 20 mins. Was very simple and fit perfectly. Ford is selling it as a Severe Duty option for construction use vehicles AND equipment. The Motocraft part number is FA-1759 and the Ford Number is 2U2Z9K635AA. Also MC #'s 1756, 1758 ETC get you the filter and enclose filters for constrution equipment. (around $80 to $100)

Performance? I could not tell any difference, except it was quieter than the open type intakes.

Guess you could cut out openings in the sides for more air and noise.
