Posted here before, but this is for Bob. sorry it's sideways, it's from my phone
holy crap! I don’t have anything like that. I have like five from ranging from the late 40’s to mid 70’s. I have a couple modern ones too, but those are more for function than collection. I have a couple old stoves and an old Coleman heater too. Not sure if the heater works though.

Oh, I ran out of room in the garage, had to start in one of the shipping containers.
lol
wife said I'm not allowed to buy anymore stoves or heaters anymore.
She didnt say anything about lanterns tho, so they're still coming in.
Started on container #2
Who was supposed to buy something like that? I'm trying to figure the customer base. Slide shows where there is no reliable electricity? The military, maybe.
Boy scout camps used to use them.
camp fires, etc. I used to see them quite a bit when I was a kid. I think they fell out of fashion in the 70's
Mine is marked 8-63 on the bottom
Huh. Slide shows of ... something? The Scout creed? "A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent." Did I forget one? They drilled that into us. It's seared into my hippocampus.
Model 442, only made in 1963, so kind of rare. If you like older camping and hiking equipment, there's
a neat website. The 1950s and 1960s were kind of the peak in a lot of ways, the big conglomerates hadn't bought everyone out. Sadly quality seems to decline. My Jansport frame pack has a lifetime warranty, they are still around. Kelty, Trailwise, Gerry, EMS, not so much. Coleman doesn't manufacture in the U S ?
