so i have a dilemma, going to pismo beach next weekend to camp and ride some dirt bikes and quads on the beach for my birthday. the dilemma is.... i don't know what lantern to take one heck of a decision.... ugh..
thinking of taking the 242B and 200A, just wish i had a spare non expensive globe for both of them or at least one for the 242B. wish my 228F big hat was not out of the game with a fuel leak, id like to take that and pair it up with a single mantle.
will see, have to dig out a milk crate and pack them and a fuel can in some towels for the trip.
i settled on taking my 200A to pismo last weekend for my birthday trip, argued with one guy who kept saying that its a kerosene lantern and insisted i was using the wrong fuel.
it was down in the mid 60's at night i think and kind of damp and windy so it was kinda tricky to get the generator warmed up with a lighter. ran good! lit up the BBQ for the chef of the night fixin up some tasty eats, and also lit up the table for a few rounds of a drinking game.
the 200A Blended in quite well with a bunch of red solo cups!
in 2 weeks heading to a RV park in Oceanside with a buddy of mine and his girlfriend and her parents, going to take the 242B that time i think. unless i get off my **** and get the 228B straitened out.
also i got 2 coleman keychain lanterns from by friends girlfriend, she said its kinda hard to shop for a guy who is into lanterns
sean, gonna light the 228B this morning see if the light output is still flickering like a candle. going to pull the generator again and check fuel flow. cannot remember if i checked before, i might pull the cleaning leaver out and the concentric block and make sure there is no new gunk built up.
aside from that im still trying to figure out if i wanna try and take it apart myself or yell uncle and bring it on back to ya. i am tempted if i do take it apart to try and get a little more shine out of the nickle, but the better half of me says leave well enough alone before i screw it up.
my buddy was afraid of using the 200A for lighting the paying table, hes like we might spill some beer on it! had to tell him 5 times nah it will be just fine!
