After more reading and thinking...The plan is to do v code fronts, and modded B code rears. I will keep the stock ex block. But had anyone done 3 springs from the old rear packs and transferred them to the B codes. Or done 2 springs and a chunk of the old overload.
I did that with mine. I used "F" codes from a 2005 F-250. The "F" codes have the same weight capacity as "B" codes, just more progressive spring rate.
anyhoo, I removed leafs from the original "G" codes that the Excursion came from, and installed them into my new "F" codes. Gained essentially 3" by doing this. Ride is great as well IMO
I only needed to add 1 leaf per side. I did NOT re-use the slapper bar. It gave me too much height (1" all by itself roughly) that I didn't need.
here is a pic of the leaf I took from the "G" codes. You can see where I had to remove a tiny section of it so it would could be inserted into the "F" codes.
This is not my truck, but it's the guy I got the idea from. You can see the leaf that was shortened...and the slapper bar. He got 4" of height.
with a little ingenuity and a few trial/errors...you too can get whatever height you are after. I've still got my "G" codes leftovers sitting in the garage and I believe I will be shortly going back into the suspension. I've got a serious hankering to upgrade my 35's for 37" rubber and my current 3" setup needs a bit more height
FYI: I also used the "G" codes to upgrade my front springs.
The leaf immediately to the left of my finger is what I used for the front. It gave me about 1/2" of height...but it stopped my bottoming out problem 100%. Free upgrade, and effective
the AAL + 2" lift shackles easily clears my 35's. just a tiny bit of rubbing at full lock. Love the look and the ride
I just finished the v-code and modded b-code swap yesterday. I added a Hellwig rear swaybar and new bilsteins at the same time. I kept the OEM 2" block in the rear. The truck sits 39-inches from ground to top of fender in the front and 41.5-inches in the rear. I also measured the front and back of the side step. it is 14.75-inches in the front and 16-inches in the back.
Is there a 1" block that I can replace the 2"-OEM block with and get the truck a little more level?

raise the front ... don't lower the back IMHO. Caryt has a front spring hanger just for this... and it gave me 1 3/4" gain from my original measurement.
Did V / modB / GasMagnum shocks
Already had Hellwig rear sway bar
Couple of notes
You do not need longer rear ubolts unless you want to use new ones.
If using new spring pack center pin (mine came from local spring shop...size is 7/16...4 bucks each) you will most likely need to enlarge the center hole on the ubolt plate.
If unable to line up the spring to shackle bolt, place socket on top of knuckle and lift axle with jack. I used 18mm impact socket, laid it horizontally on top to act as a spacer and as axle lifted up spring stretched but not too far up because of the socket jammed in there spaced it out just right....it lined up perfectly with the hole and i was able to slide the bolt in....then removed the socket of course. Once Bs are modded, they dont cooperate much and its hard to bend them or stretch them by hand.
I gained about 2in all around, but did not measure beforehand since i use factory 16s on the truck and dont care about larger rim/tire.
I did it by myself and it took me about 5 hours. Two floor jacks (one was factory bottle) and two jack stands.
Springs are heavy, get a buddy to help. I am pretty sore lol
I like the stance of your truck. I am going to do this setup for both my wife's and my 2000 Excursions (7.3). May I ask what size tire/rim/offset you have on your rig?
Also, what is everyone using for sway bar end links front and rear? I assume you need a 4" with that setup.

My rear bar is Helwig and has adjustable end links.

Here are the rims I went with. I ordered them through Cary at CT Performance (Home) they have a 3,600 lb load rating and 4 1/2" back spacing and that is what you want in order to keep them from rubbing - IIRC he got them a bit cheaper or saved on shipping, but that was quite a few years ago (4). Still not a bad price, when I looked locally most were $225 and up. They have been very good, but I kinda wish I would have went with 18" rims sometimes.
The tires in the pic are BF Goodrich 305/70 R16 Load range E. But now I am running 285/75 R16's - still 33" tires just not as wide. was hoping to get a bit better fuel mileage but with my heavy foot I can't tell.
I went with the Helwig swaybar as well from suspension connection. But you could save quite a bit if you can find a used one off of an F-350.
